"We Don´t Run" - 2nd Song from "Burning Bridges"

No one's clutching at any straws here. It's just not as blatantly obvious to some as it is to others.

Nowadays, any new Bon Jovi song sounds like something else. There's no originality left anymore, and it's kind of odd to me how people praise a song like We Don't Run when it sounds like a mix of nowadays pop rock music, and nothing like Bon Jovi, a problem this band has had for a good decade.

You're saying something should just be a Bon Jovi song, but take away Jon's voice and you'd never guess you were listening to Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi songs just no longer sound like Bon Jovi songs and it's not exactly coïncidental they're ripping off artists that were popular at the time the band were writing certain songs.

Turn on nowadays pop radio station for a week and you'll hear why new Bon Jovi doesn't get played anymore. It's already out there, done by another band/artist, with their own identity and character. When people like you are saying how people are clutching at straws it makes me wonder how often people on here actually do listen to anything else than their iTunes playlist.

You can definitely tell its an out take from The Circle, but in my opinion its the best thing Jovi have written for a decade. You just know it wont ever be played live as Jon wont be able to sing it like that. Shame, because its a proper anthem. Sounds vintage Jovi

I'm with you on this. Have hated a lot of stuff for years from this band, including the other new song which I even forget the proper name.

Something slightly different and surely a direction I think many here would like to be explored further on the full album. Still pretty far from my general musical tastes, but cool enough nonetheless.

Alright, am I listening to a different song or what? I don't like WAN the record but a few songs there are miles better than this.
I'm sorry but calling this one a rock song... what is rock about it? The overproduced and heavily edited vocals? The plastic sound of the whole song?. Yeah it has a hook and cool parts but the majority of the song is a production of a skillful computer programmer.
I've always valued songs by their live renditions. It's been a problem with Bon Jovi recently that they haven't been able to do the justice to the new songs live but still the song could be done live. This one? Without samples and backing track impossible plus someone else has to sing instead of Jon. The guy wasn't able to sing the melody in Wanted.
Ok that's enough. I don't hate the song. It's interesting. I just really don't understand the excitement. Are you so hungry for new music? It's been only two (horrible) years since the last album. So many people were saing that they need a 5 years break, so after 2,5 - 3 we get two new albums..
And yeah, I'll always dislike Richie-less production of this band, doesn't matter who's to blame. Unfortunately

Shanks confirmed today that he played guitar on every song on 'Burning Bridges'

He also said that every song is new and that they aren't outtakes or demos which is strange as didn't Jon say himself that 'Saturday night gave me Sunday morning' was an old song?

What he meant to say (I think) is that the songs were recorded for Burning Bridges, though they might've been written before.

This whole project gets weirder and weirder. So how is it a fan album to tide us over, if it's all new songs, sorry, this is just a new album they don't want to promote.

Reminds me a bit of KTF's "Save a prayer" which I always envisioned as a dark shadowed train ride...

I do think Jon could nail this song vocally. I know it has a big chance in the chorus but it still sounds like Jon!! I can't stop listening to it.. Haven't been like this with a new song for years!
