Default What About Now: First Impressions

I'm gonna open this thread, and have it closed in two weeks. By then, anybody who cares enough to hear the album should've heard it by then.

Rate the album on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the worst obviously and 10 being the second coming of Christ, figuratively speaking.

I'm gonna give it a 7 at this point. Lots of good stuff on here, but the production really drags it down for me.

On first listening - 7.5 - 8. Hoping the quality of the CD is better than this rip...that's what spoils it for me too.

8.5, only because i really like where they went here. Ya the production sucks, but im thinking the core of the songs are pretty damn good.

Im thinking between this Album(****ing US needs to wait until the 26th for spotify) and Tegan and Sara's new album, the year is already a success for me ha. I dont have a CD player but ill def buy a hard copy.

It is better than The Circle, so I will give it 1 out of 10.

Joking of course, I do not really hate anything on this album, but at the same time nothing is really that good. Truth is if it were any other band the first listen would have been the last because there is nothing exciting here. Obviously as a fan I will see if there are things I can learn about the songs on this record, but I just feel it is all filler. It is still not as bad as some will say here though, so I will give it a 6.

Mediocre effort. After a few listens, I dont feel the need to listen to it again. Sounds like a typical Bon Jovi record of the 2000s, without the catchy/hit singles.

Luckily there is good music out there.

I can't believe people here are claiming it's as good as the classic records

I gave it a six. I probably rated it too highly.
The songs are catchy (the up-tempo ones) But they have no substance. Even though I might enjoy them, I will be bored by them in a few weeks. First impression is that the songs sound way to similar. I do like some of Richie's guitar work, though. But I keep asking myself whether that is still the Bon Jovi that grabbed me 15 years ago. I don't think so.
I don't want to say that they should repeat their best efforts, I just want them to sound less average.

It's just decent.

A few great tracks (That's What The Water Made Me, I'm With you, The Fighter, Old Habits Die Hard) the rest sounds like Jon ripping off other bands. I've noticed direct lifts from Matchbox Twenty, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen so far.

Oh Jesus, yeah. I remember listening to one of the songs and thinking Cohen but it just passed me by. What's the Cohen song, Suzanne?

Are you kidding? . Amen = Halleluja. But I don't see it as a direct copy and I still enjoy What's Left Of Me, although it reminds me of Springsteen.
