Yeah, that's really obvious but there's a Cohen song where he sings about tea from China and I'm sure Jon sings the same words in a similar style in one of the new songs.

So it's possible he copied Cohen twice.

Ok, if I was Matchbox Twenty, I would be phoning my lawyers right about now over the verses of Beautiful World. Undeniable plagiarism. WTF?!

I'm serious. Bon Jovi could easily be taken to court and lose.

Not sure how copyrights work, but its just a melody they ripped, not the actual words. Plus, MB20 would have no say since their songs all belong to the record label, unless How Far We've Come was released on their own label. I've seen cases like this and the judge just says, there are no lyrics that were ripped, its a melody. Dismissed. Someone else did a song really similar to a newer MB20 song, I can't remember it for the life of me though...

It's kind of spoiling the album for me at the moment. Why does Jon do this? on nearly every album he rips off other artists but this one is just shameless.

It has to be proven that Bon Jovi actually listened to the song and decided to copy it...almost impossible to prove. Go on Youtube and search for Joe Satriani and Coldplay. Virtually the same melody in places, but nothing came of it, because no-one could prove that Coldplay actively ripped Satriani's song.
In music, there are only so many variations and it's logical that there will be patterns. Look at this:

I really like the arrangement of Amen. Now crucify me.

The difference between Coldplay and Satriani's case if I remember correctly, weren't they released at the same time or around about the same time? Which came first?

This instance is difference, there is a few years in between the two songs and MB20's song was a huge hit, there is no way that Jon didn't hear it. Satriani's song wasn't a hit. No one really heard it until the whole thing with Coldplay came up.
