Oh Dear god - that job is the last thing I need LOL. However I have to agree with your assessment of getting screwed by both parties. That is one reason I am supporting Bernie this time around. So far he is not in anybody's pocket. I don't honestly think he will get the nomination but I guess you gotta hope.

This describes Bernie perfectly - though it may offend some.

First orders of business:

1. Kick everyone out of Congress who has been there longer than 20 years. I think that's more than generous.
2. Lower the salary of everyone in Congress to "a living wage" and see how they like trying to get by on it. Sure, they can have benefits. I'm getting to that.
3. Make everyone in Congress, on the Supreme Court, and in all levels of the government have to deal with being on Obamacare and see how the hell they like that too. Then they'll do something about fixing that mother****ing law. (You know, they're all exempt from Obamacare.)
4. Grade members of Congress on progress/improvements made in the country and let their salaries/benefits reflect that. Kind of like they hold teachers accountable for their students' test scores.

My party is the FED UP party.

But even though Bernie is clearly the better candidate, you know the Democrats are stupid enough to make Hillary their candidate even though she's hated by half the country and plagued by scandals. You know they're going to do it. And our country will not be respected by foreign countries at all if she's elected..... or if Trump is elected. We're so screwed.

And as much as I hate what you said - I have to agree with it. And it makes me crazy. I have spent the last year with HOPE - for the first time in a long time. And I know I'm old enough to know know better.

If Bernie does not pull this out this time - I give up. Yes me - an older over achiever who used to think that we all had a choice in this country. I will have learned this the hard way

My family stateside have always been republicans. At the moment they are enjoying the Trump show, it's trash or should that be crash tv. You can't help but watch.I catch some of it here in Uk.
I like Obama and what he has done. Clinton will be elected I think.

A friend of mine (a local business owner) posted this on Facebook. I thought it relevant to this conversation:

" ******* on Hwy 49 welcomes customers and travelers from all over the country. I have been taking an informal presidential preference poll of my own. I call it the Miss Magnolia poll.
This week I informally asked what they thought of the debates this week. I also asked if they have a favorite candidate.
Here are my findings.
1. Most people ARE angry. They mince no words about the country's state of affairs.
2. Most even volunteer their preference for a president before I inquire.
3. Whether you like the results or not, there is NO contest.
Trump and Cruze, win hands down.
4. Even if they haven't made up their mind ... there is one candidate that will NOT get their vote....guess who?
Do I have to say her name?

I find it extremely interesting that people from all walks of life, different states (N,S,E,W) etc. are so agitated with our present governing bodies."

****************

I saw on Facebook this morning that Clinton is polling 25 points higher than Sanders. How the heck is that even possible with her history of scandals and lying? Please, Democrats, don't make her your candidate!

******************

Another Edit:

Sanders says he would raise taxes on the middle class

Default RE: Republican Candidate Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz's Cuban-born father was granted asylum in the U.S. in 1961, and he -- along with his American-born mother -- was granted citizenship by Canada not long before Cruz was born there in 1970. His family settled in the U.S. four years later, and in 2005, his father renounced his Canadian citizenship and received U.S. citizenship. Ted renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2014.

Since there is no indication, however, that Ted's mother ever renounced her U.S. citizenship, he meets the criteria of a naturalized-by-birth US citizen and is indeed qualified to run for U.S. president.
