Come on, you can't really think that can you?

You are right. A lot of people are born into poverty and really have no way to escape their fate, especially in Africa, eastern Europe and Asia, South America.
When I said most people who are poor I was referring to people from rich western societies, who just like Becky said, spend their money on all kinds of useless crap and save no money whatsoever.

Just as you've said the world is an unjust place..it's like a civilised jungle if that makes any sense. It's like survival of the fittest, the people who are the smartest make it to the top either by being fair with other people, screwing over other people or a combination of both. As much as I hate to admit it that's just the way this world works. It isn't fair at all. Some jackasses are born in rich families and die filthy rich while some of the kindest people are born in poverty and die that way.

I completely understand where you are coming from, and I agree with you for the most part. However, 'surviving' is not synonymous with 'living'. Most people will, no matter their financial status, spend money on enjoyment/entertainment - even if it's outside their means. So yes, very poor families may have pay-TV, because what else is there for them? It's not the wisest choice financially, but if it's enough to keep a family sane, and feel special, then who am I to judge? The poverty we see in the 'developing-world' often is that of external pressure, whereas in the west, it's often a 'disease of the mind' so to speak - and breaking that negative cycle is more difficult that it may appear to many - including myself, as I too was quite critical of these people.

I jumped to the end and was wondering how the hell the conversation got on poor people being stupid and then rolled back to this.

It's ironic to be talking about stupid people while your jumping off point is based on the sort of gossipy ignorance you'll find among the uneducated people you're criticizing.

The U.S. getting a single payer healthcare provider does not equal "socialist state." The U.S. getting public universities to get their tuition down to affordable levels or free as it is in other first world countries does not equal "socialist state." Getting wages in line with the cost of living equal to what it has been for previous generations that are now living high off the hog because they had that is not "socialist state."

I understand an American being brainwashed enough to not comprehend these things. I don't understand someone out of the U.S. that should know better not comprehending these things. At no point has Bernie Sanders been talking about giving money to poor people. He's been talking about evening the odds and providing the opportunity to get ahead.

Hillary is a CRIMINAL (I guess I should say allegedly) currently under investigation. She shouldn't be able to run under ANY party right now!

I'm not a fan of either of the Clintons.

I've never questioned Hillary's integrity because I'm not convinced that she has any.

And I always thought her husband had the morals of an alley cat; but I later decided that was an unfair comparison. Alley cats have never done anything to me. Why should I insult them?

Now find one for the level of what people trust more than Hillary given her record. I'd say I'd trust A drink from Bill Cosby; Flint Michigan Water; a taco from street vendor in Mexico; the Nigerian Prince who wants access to my bank accounts; and the Jamaican guy who just called me and told me I won 3 million dollars and all I have to do is send him a $3,000 money order.

In November---WE'RE SCREWED. We already know Hillary can't be trusted and Trump? Trump? Really? That's the option to Hillary?
