I currently teach a small class of early teens with autism and it's without a doubt the best job I've ever had. I've worked in special needs for a good few years now but I'm re-interviewing for the position on a longer term basis next week and I'm going to nail it to make sure I get to stick at it and build upon the stuff I've introduced and developed up until now.

Still working on getting them to dig Bruce but there's some heavy resistance - if the music hasn't featured in some sort of game with a high casualty or gore rate they're not interested

Love the story Becky, the nature of my job means I float from place to place and, as sad as it sounds, I've forgotten more kids than I can remember but when you get a bond with them you know will go way beyond the time spent together it's great - I often bump into a kid who was in the 1st ever class I taught right out of uni in a local football bar. He's a young man now and is still wrapping his head around the idea that teachers actually get allowed out of the school building to socialise whilst I try to get to grips with the fact this kid I first saw when he was 11 and about 2ft 4 can now drink
