I usually don't make tech-related posts because I don't think they belong here. But if you use Adblock, I'd recommend you gave this a read. For those who doesn't know, Adblock is an extension that gets ride of all the annoying ads from the different websites, as some of them are intrusive and affect the use of it (sounds familiar?).

The thing is, Adblock has been bought by an unknown company and will start allowing certain ads. Rumours say that they'll do something similar to what Adblock Plus does (they're not the same), allowing some "non intrusive ads" by the exchange of a "little" money. Still, if they do it or not is the least concern as now nobody knows who's the owner of the extension and with what they could possibly update it with.

Considering most of you use it because you know why, I'd recommend migrating to uBlock Origin (not the same that uBlock, though could be ok to use it if it's not available for your web browser), both open source projects that, for now, aren't making money for our use like Adblocks. I'm using this right now and it works like a charm, and also at least we know who the developers of these extensions are.

Before installing the new extension, don't forget to delete the old one.
