They really don't do well in the States. I think that is why they were on a double bill with Bryan Adams last year. I know they do a lot of small State Fair type venues and they draw some fans but no where near what they did in their heyday. For example they performed at Turningstone Casino in Verona, NY and I think the capacity there is around 5,500 and they could not sell that out alone which is really pretty sad. I think they sold like 3,000 or so.

If you go on the DL site they actually talk alot about Bon Jovi and how they wish DL could be performing in the places BJ is now and draw those kind of numbers. Some DL fans want them to tour with BJ but we all know that is never going to happen nor do I want it to.Number 1 Jon would never allow it, it would be deemed as a nostalgia tour and I for one don't want those two bands on tour together.

They are still a pretty good live band. Not GREAT but solid. Joe's voice hasn't held up as well as I would have liked but I would still go see them again because I had a great time at their concert and they just have too many good songs.

I think that would be very cool.

I'm sure they could at least be the supporting act for Bon Jovi, so as not to cause people to think Bon Jovi are a nostalgia act.

For me their my joint favourite with Bon Jovi, also they have 5 world class albums, Slang, Hysteria, Pyromania, Retro Active and High N Dry. Seen them back in the X Tour (2002) and Joe's voice was great but at Live 8 it sounded pretty strained but I'm hopefull they will put on a hell of a show if they tour the UK this year again.

They were massive in the 80's and are the only band to have two albums go diamond in the US (sell 10m and over) in that period - Pyromania 10m and Hysteria 13m. They done well enough in the early to mid 90's as well with Adrenalize selling 3m in 93 and Vault (greatest hits) selling 4m after being released in 95. Since then they have done poor with none of their albums even reaching platnium in the US (Slang, Euphoria and X) and Slang is one of the best albums I've ever heard, it never really got a chance because it was a such a drastic change from Def Lep's normal sound. Euphoria and X have been mixed bags some awesome stuff on them and some absolute crap.

I would love Def Lep to tour with Bon Jovi cause they deserve the exposure Jovi can give them in Europe and most of the world for that matter. As long as the bands both had albums they were touring I think it would be awesome. People on the Def Lep site that went to see their New Jersey show on the X Tour said Jon and Richie came out and performed with them for a few songs.

I'm not so sure of Jon and Richie jammed with them... they did go to the show to watch and this much was confirmed.

Trivia: do you know that the title of their last 3 studio albums spells something interesting?

He/She definately said Jon and Richie came out and the crowd went mad and if I can remember correctly performed with them one or two songs. Onto the trivia question though.......Slang Euphoria X hehe

That is what a lot of people on the DL board say too. That if they toured with Bon Jovi they would get the chance to play to huge crowds and sold out venues every night. But at the same time a lot of those same people also feel that because of DL's glory run in the 80's that they are too big to open for BJ. In a way I can understand that. The DL fans are diehards there and they know that their band is better than an opening act. Plus it is kind of an ego thing... they probably feel they shouldn't have to open but in reality their audience is a lot smaller now than it was in the 80's. It's too bad really.
