S&M is brilliant! It turned out really well. I think they were one of the first to crossover with classical music before lots of other bands copied that.
Live they are tighter than some years some ago for sure! The setlists are more interesting and versatile than it was on their "comeback" with St.Anger.
But like you said the sloppines annoys me. It seems like Ulrich and Hammett don't need to practice because they are big in business and no one cares Especially the drums. There are far more cool double bass parts on the original recordings as he plays them live. Another point is that Hetfield's voice is worn out. But that can happen...
