EddieTrunk.com: ...If you heard my podcast this is what Axl and I discussed at the Vegas show last weekend and he asked me not to speak about until it was officially out...

Angus jammed with GnR last night at Coachella to make it official. The clips on YouTube sounded cool and clearly vocally Axl can handle the gig. But there are way more questions than that.

...What really happened with Brian is anyone’s guess. But nobody is buying the hearing thing that I know. My sources tell me Brian was slowing down and didn’t want to work as hard as Angus (who is younger) did. I also know that on the latest tour Brian only wanted to do 2-3 shows max a week. Something that is expensive for a band when off that much on the road (Aerosmith has to do this with Tyler). It comes with age and guys slowing...

I cannot believe it was a sudden hearing issue...I can’t believe after 36 years AC/DC would say goodbye to their singer and not find a work around. MANY have hearing issues and find a way to make it work in rock...Brian is a total class act. So very possible he takes the high road here. But it still blows me away how so many fans are not demanding a real answer on Brian and are so quick to move on...

RockFeed.net: ...Johnson’s friend comedian Jim Breuer says that he is being shut out by the rest of his bandmates. Speaking on his podcast The Metal In Me, Breuer recounts his discussion with Johnson.

(Brian) said that he called and let 9AC/DC and Young0 know, ‘Hey, this is what the doctor said, but let’s try to figure this out. I don’t think it’s as bad as he said it is,'” Breuer said. “Literally the next day in the press, it was ‘Brian Johnson, tour canceled, he’s losing his hearing.’

“He said he just called and gave that information,” Breuer said. “He didn’t say he wanted to quit. He didn’t say he was done. He called with that information, and two days later, he read in the papers and heard on Twitter and everywhere else, ‘Brian Johnson going deaf canceling tour.’ A day later, and it was, ‘Oh, we’re gonna have guest singers.'

...(Angus) wants to write another album and do one more tour. Who’s filling those shoes? How do you do that after forty years? It’s just really weird.”
Let's see what happens after Axl's painkillers and Lithium REALLY kick in...

With Axl doing this i guess that probably ends GNRs (alleged) trying to get Wembley Stadium this summer. Bugger.

GNR is already booked to tour NA stadiums the whole summer; so the European dates could only realistically happen next year anyway.

I must say that Axl sings the DC songs better then I thought he would do, even better than his own songs. Still I am not going to pay money to see this tribute band and as I see how many have asked and gotten a refund I am curious how 'sold out' most venues will eventually be.

I salute you,
TS

I would absolutely buy a ticket to see AXL/DC. I reckon it would be awesome, even if it was a train wreck. They need to re-add some Aussie dates now!

From what I heard of Axl's voice, I (and many others) think Bon Scott-era songs will suit him better than Brian Johnson's, so I expect to have more of those in the set.

That'll definitely do it for me.

I got to admit, I was wrong about Axl. He is nailing it! He is singing the DC songs better than his own. Then again, I wouldn't pay full price for a band that isn't full AC/DC anymore and therefore only worth €50-€60 tops. It remains a tribute band but I'm positively surprised with Axls performance on songs like Thunderstruck and Rock and Roll Damnation. Also, his reach on Hells Bells is amazing! He also got a nice rasp in his voice while singing those songs.

Is anyone going to the London show at the Olympic Stadium?

On my Event Staff Portal, it's telling me that my shift is from 10am to 5:45pm. surely, this ain't a day event, right?

I'll be pissed if I'm just dealing with the early queues and not the show itself.....
