It’s the first original studio album by the band in 18 years since 2005’s
A Bigger Bang. Wasn’t expecting such a thing by them anymore based on how long it’s been, coupled with Mick Jaggers apprehension over releasing new music.
I haven’t listened to
A Bigger Bang since it came out really but I remember their 2012 single “Doom and Gloom” (taken from their then-latest compilation album) being a really cool track that sounded classic Stones yet felt fresh and edgy, proving that a band their age could still write good songs. Will see how it goes.
