I just heard Always on a YouTube video. Damn, his voice is shot. I'd enjoy it live anyway, but the voice is really gone. This reminds me of that 2003 acoustic show in Japan.

No way. Even that Jon, with a cold and any other ache is miles better than the actual one. I feel really bad for him, hope he's dealing with his health. The positive of this Always was Phil X. Very nice work!

Yep. I just heard it and it was 1000 times better than this. Wow, that used to be the worse voice state of Jon, but now every day is worse than that.

The band sounds amazing, and kinda makes up for him to be honest. I'd rather have a ballad sang this way that no ballad at all.

Jon needs to seek out a professional who knows how he can play on his strengths and figure out his weaknesses. There are certain songs that are tolerable and then he could just make adjustments to the other ones... even if it's lowering the keys even more... The songs have to be listenable and that version of Always just wasn't. If you remember back to the 80's, Living In Sin was adjusted and sung much lower and they actually turned into my favorite performances... If Jon lowered the keys on his ballads, they might not sound like the album versions but neither do these versions if he can't sing them...

The first time Living In Sin was lowered was in 2000. Before that, it was always played in E.

Fantastic stuff from Phil X.

Holy shit. That Always was just something else. I've never felt so sad witnessing a Bon Jovi performance before. I'm feeling his frustration. Honestly Always better be left outside a set list if this is the result..

Still, great to see Radio, Superman and Always. It's just not the same to follow the PBPs anymore, because you know everything will sound shit, especially high pitch songs like Always etc. I can't see him turning this vocal state around.. I'm afraid 2011 will be the last really great year for Bon Jovi shows. From 2013 forward it's a big mess. A joke really... :(

I hope to hear someday the acoustic version of Superman Tonight. It's amazing. I love how the public doesn't shout the "ooh"s at the end but say them calm, like the song. I really love it.

Jon sounds pretty deep... I don't need no licence... deeper than the album

That's because they play it half a step down. But it was only tuned down to D in 2000.
