But think of how much "stronger" these talking points would have been if he'd made them from a North Carolina stage -- especially since he's better situated professional than The Dixie Chicks. And he could have donated some of the proceeds from the concert to help the "freedom fighters!"

Making them from the stage would have hit a much much much % of people than not playing at all.

Fantastic tribute to Prince last night. Nils killed the solo.

North Carolina Governor Caught in Lie About Bruce's Concert Cancellation
Quote:

(North Carolina Governor) Pat McCrory implied that Bruce Springsteen cancelled his concert in Greensboro not because of outrage over the controversial HB2, but because of lack of sales...
“I love his music. But he canceled a concert in Greensboro. By the way, they only had 8,000 tickets sold, with all respect. Hmm. But Bruce doesn’t mention that. They didn’t get the ticket sales they wanted."
There’s only one problem with that statement. It’s completely false.

The Greensboro Coliseum...can seat more than 20,000 people. (According to)...the arena’s PR director...Springsteen had sold more than 15,000 tickets...(and) added that were fewer than 100 tickets left when Springsteen cancelled...

In an email...McCrory’s spokeman...wrote:
The governor apologizes for using the wrong number. It’s too bad Bruce Springsteen actually canceled on nearly 15,000 people at the last minute. Regardless, the governor is still keeping his Springsteen albums despite their political disagreements.”

Was it your first Bruce show Mo? He really doesn't know how to put on a bad show.

It certainly was. Unfortunately, I couldn't witness it all, as there were a few crowd issues I had to deal with.

Now I wanna try getting my hands on that 4k BluRay :D

I hope you enjoyed it. Though dealing with crowd issues sucks :(

Good article - so far I saw 4 full River shows in arenas earlier this year. And in another week I have the start of 4 more stadium shows. I like the emphasis in the article of Bruce playing live - completely live. No inner ear monitors, no special effects other than musical, no dancing - just live rock and roll. For me at least, it's life's blood :D
