Big Metallica fan. This song is ok. Hope for better on the album.
Their last truly great song was Broken, Beat & Scarred. |

Death Magnetic is great album for me. My favorite songs; That Was Your Life, The Day That Never Comes, The Judas Kiss, My Apocalypse. Also, All Night Along, Broken Beat Scarred and The End of the Line are pretty cool.

Hammett talked about METALLICA's mindset as it prepares to hit the road in support of the band's long-awaited new album, "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct", due on November 18. He said: "You have to understand, we have been together for 33 years. The last time we put out an album, we had been together for 25 years. Whenever we accomplish a goal… you know, we actually set out to do something and when we actually accomplish it — like making an album, making a movie, making a video, making a tour or whatever — once we get to the point where we've done the lion's share of things and we're ready to just cruise, it's always a really, really great feeling."
He continued: "The album's mostly finished — 99 percent finished — and it's a good time, because now we can go to the next step, which is playing the songs, performing them for the public, talking about them, making sure as many people as physically possible can hear these tunes and just working it like we always do. "For us, going out and playing shows, it's really, really fun for us, really, really great, but over time, the mileage we have on ourselves, on our personal odometers, they're way up there. [Laughs] So, having said that, we have to take care of ourselves, and we have to make sure that going into this next little phase that we do it correctly and we do it in a healthy way that ensures much more longevity. And, yeah, it really feels like we've climbed the summit and we've reached the peak and now we can just cruise for a while." Read more at http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/kir...AUe9bJw9AS1.99 |
Does anyone know if James has ever met JBJ after the Donnington incident?
I know JBJ and Sebastian Bach are on better terms. They broke the ice so to speak in a London hotel. JBJ joined Bach and Axl Rose and had drinks with them. I've always been intrigued how Jon and Axl would get on or if they had ever met. |

I love "Moth Into Flame". Maybe even more than Hardwired. There's just a sense of melody in this song (the lick before the chorus, the backing vocals etc.) that make it stand out. The drumming is decent, and as Rolo said, the vocals are tight.
|
Yeah, like Moth into Flame. Solid Metallica song.
Was listening to The Outlaw Torn last night. Great song. Load gets some shit but I really like that album. |
Prefer Moth to hard wired.

I'd even consider those S&M original tracks '- Human' and 'No Leaf Clover' as great hard rock tracks. |
if you take the best from load and re-load you have 1 very good album.
I like both and theyre better than anything they've released since. If anyone dont own the s&m cd and dvd - go get it - its amazing. |
Often wondered who wrote the better riffs, Hetfield or Mustaine? (not songs)

Metallica...
I find all their albums (bar black one) 3/4 good and 1/4 drivel.
St anger was all rubbish. Death magnetic has good songs but we're long for longs sake. Hopefully the ones back on track |
I really like almost all his albums. The first 5 are incredible. Load and Reload are irregular, but from the point of view of production and composition are very interesting, they wanted to do something different. Was not so bad. A lot of songs that I love; Until Sleeps, King Nothing, Hero of The Day, Mama Said, The Outlaw Torn, Wasted my Hate, Bleeding Me, I'm My Bich, The Memory Remains, Fuel, Unfogiven II, Prince Charming, Low Man's Lyric....
St Anger is certainly the worst album. In that period, they were going through a creative and personal crisis. Death Magnectic is a throwback to the old days, it is like revisiting the classic albums but giving it a more modern touch. I love those songs but I hate the production, it was a very uncomfortable sound wall. Lulu, was an experiment that ended up being a dud. Hardwired To .... Self-Destrutor, my expectations are good, they will not make a great album like Ride The Lightning or Black Album, but there is something in the sound, and choruses that I like, I feel this album will a tribute to the sound of the Black Album, Load-Reload and Death Magnetic. |
Master of puppets and ride the lightening are my favs

Listening to reload on way to work for first time in ages.
Some great songs on here |

I agree. In these days, they sound great. Fortunately it is not Lulu. When I hear the two songs in a row, I feel hardwired has grown even more, I think this album will have songs varied and listen to the whole album is going to be an interesting and rewarding experience. I can't wait hear the song Murder One, METALLICA revealed that this song from its forthcoming "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" is a tribute to late MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister and uses many of his songtitles in the lyrics. Shortly after Lemmy's passing, Ulrich penned a lengthy tribute to the MOTÖRHEAD mainman in which looked back on the influence Lemmy had not just on METALLICA but also on him personally. |

Rolo, those live versions are killer. Still really really love Hardwired, Moth Into Flame is too long for me, drags after a few minutes.

Yep, I have the same feeling about the end of the song, but I still like them both a lot. I can not wait for this record, I think there will be pleasant surprises on this album. https://scontent-mad1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...c1&oe=58AB47F7 Making Of Moth Into Flame video http://video.rollingstone.com/previe...V0yNC-necgKPaX |
