No, really, Slayer couldn't have been an influence, I think that's clear even to DevilsSon. But the Stones were and are an influence, and also an influence that can be heard in the music, if you want to hear it. Not that an influence HAS to be heard, unlike DevillesSon likes to think.

20,000 units to date. Back in '83 it probably sold 100 copies. You couldn't even purchase the album in major record stores, just select ones.

Metallica's the band that allowed "thrash metal" to be somewhat mainstream. It had a strong underground following so when Metallica made it, others followed... but that's a whole other subject
