Agree. And sorry, but I wouldn't pay for them, not only they're insanelly expensive but he goes out to play some awful covers. If these are for the fans, he should do setlists like the one of the Starland Ballroom in 2009.

He should just do a solo tour in small theatres all over the world with lots of his solo albums songs, that I'd pay for.

If it's just the fan club, it's more likely he'll play some rarer stuff. He played Every Word Was A Piece Of My Heart in Vegas and it was just fan club.

Still way too pricey though. Especially since they just did Mexico with 2 shows, all inclusive, 4 nights and it was cheaper!

Javier 06-08-2014 05:56 PM

I don't get the explanation entirely, is that for one acoustic show and a photo opp during the whole weekend or is it a full show with the KOS one day and an acoustic show the next??

MrNickel 06-08-2014 08:21 PM

Do you just get a stock photo that Jon signs or do you get to meet Jon & take a pic ?

For that amount of money, Jon should be tickling your feet and buying you lots of Pizza.

Becky 06-08-2014 09:10 PM

The price sure has gone up since I went to a fan club party in 1998. I think it was $250. It was limited to 300 people if I remember correctly. They fed us an elaborate meal and gave us enough merchandise that it more than made up for the price of the ticket. He played an acoustic show which was fantastic. Jon went around, talked to everyone individually and posed for pictures with everyone individually. I'm glad I had that experience.

You do get a stock photo signed by Jon, but you also get to meet him (for a brief moment) and get your photo taken with him. Ive done 3 trips (2 with photo ops) and the first time was a huge thrill. Then you realize he's just a dude and it's no big deal, lol.

This trip is just an acoustic show - there was no mention of KOS anywhere. The acoustic shows are nice, and you get the odd rarity, but I prefer the energy of a Bon Jovi show.

I'll be in New York earlier that week but will pass on this show. For that amount of money I want more than Jon tickling my feet and pizza, lol.

That actually sounds like a reasonable investment. But ~2000$ for a photo and Wifi?

My dad rewarded me for graduating college with a 4.0 and getting into grad school with that trip. He paid for me and my Aunt to fly to NJ and for me to go to the party. My Aunt had to go because you had to be 25 to rent a car in NJ at the time (which I wasn't). It was the best present I ever got! I sure do miss my dad.

Becky, it sounds like you had a great trip and will always have happy memories of your dad every time you think of that incredible present. :)

Wouldn't go for free let alone pay for it. This band of average players does nothing for me. Bon Jovi with Richie back or nothing for me thanks.

That's a little over dramatic. Not even if it was free?

steel_horse75 06-11-2014 02:02 PM

as much as I love JBJ and RS I have no desire to see either doing their solo stuff.
JBJ must have a screw loose - his voice is fu ck ed and he needs to rest it instead of playing sh1t gigs like these.

Supersonic 06-11-2014 05:58 PM

Aloha !

Frankly, I wouldn't go either. For me, there's really nothing about those shows to enjoy. They're an average band with a below average singer playing mediocre renditions of songs made popular by other bands. And yet when a Bon Jovi song is being played it sounds as if the singer is still covering another band. No thanks.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Bounce7800 06-11-2014 07:48 PM

Yeah, I got some of that corporate show that was up on Youtube. Not pretty, Bad Name was especially a lowlight and the band sounds so poor on the Jovi stuff, coupled with Jon's voice and its really not something I'd relish.

Juz 06-13-2014 10:28 AM

I wish JBJ would stop these corporate gigs. They are destroying the Bon Jovi BRAND. He would be better off doing JBJ shows singing material off his solo albums if he can't stop.

He must be getting well paid to do these private gigs. An NFL team isn't cheap!

ticos_stick 06-13-2014 03:38 PM

I wouldn't go to see it if it was in my back garden. As has been said before, it's just a bored Jon and a band of average musicians.

Many of those commenting seemed to miss this.

semigoodlookin 06-14-2014 04:05 PM

I can't imagine Jon gets a thrill from doing these either. The difference between him and us is he gets the cash and we give it.

I would go if it was free, take the travel and not go to the show. I have never had a desire to meet some bloke who sings songs that I like anyway, and even more so when the show would suck ass and his voice is a trainwreck.

People say Jon and Richie need to get back ASAP. Shit, imagine the shambles that would be with the state their both in.

Dave88 07-21-2014 03:04 PM

Unconfirmed setlist:

Every world was a piece of my heart
Prayer
Thick as thieves
Destination Anywhere
Hallelujah
Who says
Follow
Make a memory
Welcome to wherever you are
With these 2 hands
Open all night (Bounce song)

Dave88 07-21-2014 03:08 PM

...and it wasn't a KOS show, but an acoustic show with Bobby and Lorenza

I had read it was Bounce's OLN, not the box set one.

I just did a copy/paste from another site, it looks like after 10 years people are still mixing up song titles

BTW thanks for the info, I've corrected the setlist.

bjcrazycpa 07-21-2014 04:21 PM

With the songs there was also a q&a. I'd love to hear DA!!

Walleris 07-21-2014 05:18 PM

This is very decent! Still would like to see more stuff from BOG and DA, but, nonetheless, it accomplishes the goal of giving something different than a regular "band" show.

trevrox 07-21-2014 07:57 PM

Did he say anything about Richie?

BonJovi100 07-21-2014 08:27 PM

Anyone have These 2 Hands video?? It would be great to hear it.

trevrox 07-21-2014 08:33 PM

He looks good!

I think the show had a strict "no questions about Richie" and "no video" policy, just like the last FC show in Vegas.

Sissy3 07-21-2014 10:33 PM

I absolutely did not recognize Bobby from some of the fan pictures posted, it looks like he's followed the Jon route and tossed the hair dye bottle. :D

safi 07-23-2014 09:17 PM

setlist according to backstage:

Every Word Was a Piece of My Heart
With These Two Hands
Welcome To Wherever You Are (request)
Not Running Anymore (request)
Hallelujah (request)
Destination Anywhere
The Fighter
Open All Night
(You want to) Make a Memory

Thanks for that. I gotta say the first half of the setlist is pretty interesting. I wonder how WT2H would sound in the acoustic format.

Becky 07-24-2014 12:25 AM

Other than WWBTF, that sounds like a great set. It's nice that he was taking requests. Does anyone know anything about the Q&A?

powernoize 07-25-2014 03:05 AM

found this on a Facebook page, concerning the Q&A:

JON BON JOVI, ON THE FUTURE OF THE BAND: "OBVIOUSLY WE ARE IN A HOLE IN OUR CAREER, OR ALREADY BE ENDED".

On the occasion of the last show of Jon Bon Jovi in New York, held a Fan Club Trip, where they asked Jon many things, but according to attendees, had prohibited any questions in reference to Richie Sambora.

When asked about the future of Bon Jovi, Jon could not be more pessimistic in this respect "we are obviously in a pothole in our career, or already completed". This response obviously sat like a jug of water cold the fans who attended the event, what Jon hastened to add "calm down... is what it is".

These words do not do more to reinforce that the band, with its four members alike, are in a time of uncertainty, not knowing which direction follow, something that also own Richie Sambora has been dropped in past interviews with words like these: "it may be only a rest. It depends not only on me and my state of mind, but they are all equal. We are going to get together at any time, or not, who knows".

The only certainty in this whole subject is that the future of Bon Jovi today is black that ever, which could lead to a sad end that, no doubt, is biggest and best band of all time. 30 great years which, as Jon and Richie, say could be more, or not

I guess Jon is publicly accepting uncertainty regarding the future of the band (i.e. Jon, Richie, Dave and Tico). That doesn't mean to say that after a few years focusing on solo aspirations, the band can't make amends for their respective errors.

MellyMel 07-25-2014 02:46 PM

That is an odd, but pretty accurate translation. Backstagers said Jon said that the band has been thru some bumps in the road over the years, and this is another bump in the road, or it is over. That makes it sound to me like he wouldn't tour without Richie, but who knows.

Chris_Newton 07-25-2014 05:22 PM

Does not sound good at all.. Can't see them touring again myself.. Such a Damn shame

Kathleen 07-25-2014 06:17 PM

I guess this is the thing that bothers me the most - there is another bump in the road so the band may be over. So is Jon a musician or not. Does he have no music left in him? Surely he can still make music without his lead guitar player.

Christ - Bruce lost 2 band members to death - now THAT is a bump in the road. But he reorganized and put on a 2 year tour that was glorious. Was it the same - no. Were they great shows - YES.

I have said over the years that Jon spreads himself too thin. There is all his charity work, and then there is his love of football. Way down in 3rd place he manages to squeeze in a record that he doesn't even bother supporting by playing his songs.

This band isn't even ending with a bang - it's ending with a whimper

Supersonic 07-25-2014 06:37 PM

Aloha !

Have you heard what he sounds like nowadays? You get a singer who can't sing anymore with a guitar player who's forgotten how to play proper lead guitar. Both can't do a single song by themselves without ****ing up plenty of times, let alone do it together. You've got to be tone deaf to be able to enjoy it.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
