For the first time in my life I don't regret that some Jovi stuff will not be released. That's pretty good info ;)

But... what was he doing there with Shanks?

Possibly they worked on "Take Back the Night" ;)

I'm not familiar with this guy or anything he's ever done. As a matter of fact, I've never even heard his name until this thread... but from the small amount of material I've heard, it doesn't sound like a Jon Bon Jovi fit at all.

It does seem like it is indeed a label thing. Similar to what prevented the Keith Urban collaboration on Who says from being released....

Do you know this for a fact or this just a guess?

I feel like people are starting to head into this direction of believing that an artist on one label can't sing with an artist on a different one... which is totally false.

There are stipulations and it is ethically valued to promote within but there are plenty of examples of artists crossing labels.

This really sucks, I was excited about this [emoji20].

Between music videos becoming a genre and the corporatism of the music business, I think labels are stricter about it now.

Nah, I thought the word seems would clarify the fact that when it comes to concrete info I really don't know anything. Just what I've read when I search for it on google gives that impression but it could be just about anything else. Avicii said last time that the song was near done, Jon could just have never gone around to finishing it, got really fed up with recording a song a syllable at a time or whatever but if something is "near done" it really sounds like it would be something behind the scenes preventing the collaboration to happen. But again, since no one knows anything all we really can do is speculate.

It would be a shame if this didn't materialise. Whether it sounded good to us or terrible, it would have been great promotion to reach out to the contemporary young audience.

Rather that than have a dance act bastardise a Jovi classic.

No, that's a fact about Who Says.

Yeah, artists can sing on other label artist's songs but the label has to okay the release. If they have their own release coming up the label might say no, or many other reasons but you're not quite right on this one.

I never heard the story that the label wouldn't allow it because Keith is on a different one? So it must have been Keith's Label, right? Please expand on this 'fact'

I just heard the story about their vocal similarities. And when you compare the 2, Jennifer's version makes more sense.
