The Average Bon Jovi Fan Is...

A middle aged right wing woman that likes pudding, quizzes, cats and Rom Coms.

Well for the UK at least - https://yougov.co.uk/profiler#/Bon_Jovi/demographics

Hard to understand the "right wing" category since Jon is very left wing. He is pretty up front about it too.

But then these averages are just that - averages. The only thing in that description that fits me is that I like cats.

Alphavictim 12-11-2014 10:43 PM

Not to be a dick about it, but wouldn't you also qualify as being a middle aged woman?

And who doesn't like cats? :3

Nope - I think at 66 that I am well past middle age. I am an old woman LOL and I am very left wing. I am also an engineer and not even close to one of their typical professions.

Most people don't know or care what the political persuasions of the musicians they like on the radio are because most people don't follow their personal lives. I have NO idea what the political leanings are of most of the musicians and actors I like are and I don't want to know. Personally, I'd never let an actor, musician, or late night TV host influence who I voted for.

Jon's not a big fan of cats either, but I don't hold that against him. LOL (He saw one throw up on his brother when he was young. True story. I have it on audio or video somewhere.) He should get therapy to deal with this traumatic memory so he could realize the wonderful glory that is cats!

Well, I tried my best to be middle aged, but being too old to go to rock concerts and too broke to do to Broadway shows or operas, I decided to skip it and remain in adulthood to until I'm elderly, LOL!

That's me! How did they know?!

Panda 12-12-2014 08:18 AM

Reasons why I would never date a Bon Jovi fan.

Also, top two movies include a Sandra Bullock flick and a Michael Bay film.

Nooooooooooo thank you.

Sounds about right for the UK..... You see how many aging women are in the crowd, most single because of their never-ending love for Jon, and therefore you could easily equate them with being cake, cat and Rom Com lovers. ;)

I am no expert on politics (especially in UK) nor do I have desire to turn this into a debate, but the "left vs. right" thing is different in every country. The ideology is one thing; how parties represent that ideology is another. For example, I am a big Obama supporter, who's obviously left; yet in Lithuania my views (or 90% of people living in big cities) are completely right due to lefties for the most part being irrational, populist and harmful to our economy; even if I would like to think of myself as a liberal person.

Moreover, Jon really doesn't push his views on fans during Bon Jovi shows, apart from that bit when Obama was shown for a second on the big screen during Born To Follow. Their fanbase in US would be much smaller if he did.

Speaking of these results, I don't think anyone is surprised by this. That's the typical "casual fan" we like to make fun of here.

Becky 12-12-2014 11:31 AM

Is the typical Bon Jovi fan an insomniac? Just wondering.

I wish I could see the page properly, but I can't get it to let my scroll down.

That's where the far left or far right terms come into use.

If Obama was dropped into the majority of European political spheres he'd be considered very right wing, it's just that the US Republicans are so extremely right wing he looks lefty in comparison.

I reckon if he'd be dropped into the majority of European political spheres he'd be a lot more left wing simply because he'd not have to risk alienating a bunch of conservative American morons. :)

Mongoose 12-13-2014 01:00 AM

Sossy 12-13-2014 03:12 PM

The average Bon Jovi Fan is exactly the opposite of me!! Well, Okay, I also like Cats, but the rest... I am not a typical BJ Fan... Maybe thatīs why I belong to nowhere...

IMO there are differences in fans when it come to Jon and Bon Jovi.

Look out in the audience when Jon does a talk show. Those are his demographic core fans.

It's a little different when it comes to the band. Although the above are included, it does stretch out more to different targets.
