"Unbreakable" - Spoken Lyrics

So now that we have figured out the end of "Novocaine" (which made me appreciate the song even more), I wonder if anyone can tell what Jon says in the middle of "Unbreakable" right before the solo.

It's a very cool part which reminds me of "Save a Prayer", one of the most underrated songs in BJ history. But I just don't understand the words...

I can't tell the first part properly, but something like

What am I now? Blowing out the candles on your birthday cake.
I'll say it again, I bend but I don't break.

With that words in mind I suddenly understand it clearly. That's very close! Just in the second line between "I say it again" and "I bend" Jon says something...
Sounds like "'Cause in the end I bend but don't break"??!

I think its

I'll say it again, 'cause man, I bend but I don't break.

The first part still sounds a bit odd, but it's too distorted to rip out clearly enough to tell for sure.

Because this is a message board. People talk about things. I would very much like to know what Jon is saying. Shame it's so distorted.
