Aldo Nova's crazy griping
"You know, just out of curiosity ,I went over to take a look at some other artists websites to see how I could improve my fan page.So I ended up on the Bon Jovi website, and the page had barely opened up yet, that they were trying to sell me something!!!!.What the !!!.I went to another section, and it cost money to get in there too!!.So there was a section called Fan club,so I figured OK I guess that's gonna be cool.So I go,and What!! it cost money to get in there TOO!!Jesus Christ Isn't the guy a gazillionaire already(twice over)(LOL).What happens if you're a fan and you don't have any money? You can't find out anything,or see any pictures???.Basically you're.(You know what))LOL
Last I heard,we lived in a free country, and good people choose to go to war so that we can be free.it's bad enough they take half our money away in taxes that we can barely make ends meet. Now we gotta pay artists money just to get into their fan pages.Who the F.. do they think they are!! Tell your friends to come here, where everything is free. The pictures, the music, even the videos are handmade ,not made by some directwhore(LOL).I remaster all the tracks I post just to make sure you get the best sound.I make all the videos and the photo montages by hand, and do just about everything else by myself. AND IT'S ALL FREE!! NO CHARGE. Tell your friends, and hop aboard. Sorry to go off.But sometimes you gotta make a point." From his facebook. He's fun to follow. |

Jon's obviously a great businessman but sometimes you wonder how he fails to see the bigger picture. |
It may be hard to argue but I'm finding it really difficult to have respect for any grown man that puts "(LOL)" every 2 sentences....

Pretty much all major bands fan clubs have a fee to join. He is just pissed nobody would pay for his crap.
|
It kinda goes both ways. Are they charging way too much? Yeah. But since there's people who will pay it its just the way it is. Aldo and Jon are not even close to the same level. But he's not wrong in what he's saying, I agree it's probably sour grapes that his stuff is free because no one will pay for it.
|
They charge you to see the last supper and they don't charge you to see some deadbeat's puke on a canvas. That's life.

That's why I haven't been posting. :D |

"TicCock" Now if we had more clever witticisms like that on here then maybe all wouldn't be lost. Keep it up Nick. Every place needs it's simpletons :) |

But yea, the Richie stuff really doesn't interest me as much. Its like when a great supporting actor becomes a lead. Like Joey from Friends was hysterical on Friends but once they gave him his own show, he lost it. I finally came to the realization that the key to Jon and Richies successes were their abilities to deliver a song in the raw. They had such powerful voices they needed nothing to make them sound amazing. Now that that power is gone and they are relying on production, i feel it's never gonna be the same. I've been waiting for that real wow moment since HAND and I don't think its ever coming |

I've been going through and listening to some older stuff lately (trying to find a song for another member) and it really just hit me.
Jon's signature raspy voice was all that was needed. (Not being a vocalist, I think he actually sang from his throat and not his core which is probably the worst way to sing. He probably sings more correct now then he did then) We blame the production and writing and in some ways it could be better but for other songs, I think some of it is better. Try to vision this. Jon singing Pictures Of You like he did I'll Be There For You during the late 80's. No Matter How I Try, No Matter What I Do, I'l Still Seeing Pictures Of You with that raspy slowed down voice. Maybe a quick breath in-between.... It would be transformed into a totally different song. Or do the same with Superman Tonight. It's My Life ruined this band for 14 years. It's the one song where production and not vocals were able to carry it. They have been trying to repeat that magic ever since. On the opposite end of it all, if you listen to most of those 80s bands today, they all sound much worse then Bon Jovi does. Shitty low budget production, bad writing, and unnoticeable vocals. |

Or the slight 1% that you're actually serious do you really think you can get away with just saying "You're Wrong". Here's a clue. In a debate if you're going to disagree with someone at least try to back it up |
Crazy griping? It sounds more like bitter, ungrateful whining:

Listen to anything Motley Crue, Sebastian Bach, or Poison (some heavy hitters back in the day) put out form 2000 forward. It's like Puke |
Cool Jon and Aldo interview back in 1990....
Some highlights: - Jon in the studio working / producing Aldo's album - Jon playing a song on the piano - Talk about the live album and the scrapping of it |

I love Aldo's Blood On The Bricks, it's an amazing album. If it had been released a year earlier, it would have been a hit! |

But in any case I agree completely about Blood on the Bricks. I love the album and I have since I first heard it. |
I think Jon summed it up best when he talks about him not being able to identify a good song. He writes so many songs and during the production process, he doesn't hear the final version that we hear. He might like his favorite guitar sound playing. Just things we don't hear or care about.
It's like when we build something, we notice every mistake and might think it sucks because of that, whereas someone else could view it and think it's great. I also love the way Blood On The Bricks is produced and the songs are all great. As someone stated, if the album was released just 1 year before it could have been so much more successful. It would be nice to hear Jon stand out on some of the backing vocals but oh well. |
Ever hear the Dean Fasano/Message version of "Hey Ronnie"? It's titled "Hey Jonny" but pretty much the same song, it's not bad, other than the weird title change. There is also a Message version of "Fields of Fire" on the same album that is pretty cool.

I've heard Aldo's demo version of Hey Johnny. Interesting how the song changed from being about 2 dudes expressing their best-friend-ship to a love song between man and woman. It's a great example of how a song-writing process works. Example: "The Station" was the Power Station Studios in Hey Johnny and morphed into a Gas Station in Hey Ronnie. I'd really love to hear both "Fields Of Fire" and "Hey Johnny" buy Message. Is it on YouTube or Spotify? |
I only found "Fields" on youtube. Weird since I think 'Fields" was only a japan bonus track for the album, which was a minor release to begin with. Hey Jonny was on the actual album. |

I like this slowed down version but prefer Jon's voice |
No problem. Sorry I couldnt find "Hey Jonny." Dean Fasano must have been a fan of Aldo Nova's considering the "Ronnie" cover and the cover of "Doin' The Dance" cover titled 'Dance Of The Dead" as a bonus track on the re-release of the original Message album on CD in 2000.
