Does Jon Actually Play the Guitar Live?

So does he? Because I've seen several live performances over the years where he appears to actually play, and quite well I add, and other performances where he's happily strumming away and I can't hear anything! I know that he's a fairly good guitarist, but is his favourite black acoustic just a prop?

His electric is generally so low in the mix. I've always hated his tone. His acoustic though, while being used on songs that I don't think they even need, you can hear him clearly.

I'm not sure whether it's just because this is a soundcheck, but in this rendition of Army of One (), at approx. 3:33 you can hear acoustic being played when Jon has his hand extended in the air.

A little bit suspect if you ask me

I may be wrong on this but wasn't this taped during the first show of the BWC tour, the one that got snowed out so they did the show anyway but only 1/4 of the people made it? I could swear this was taped at the actual show.

Hah, nevermind. What's Bobby playing during this song, he may have a 2nd acoustic or acoustic simulator on his guitar set.

I'm not sure about Bobby. You only see him a few times during the video, and it doesn't appear that he's playing in time to the audio. Oh well :/

It's more noticeable at the beginning at about 1:00 to 1:20 when he's strumming quite heavily but there's absolutely no sound whatsoever. I'm calling the backing track card on this performance in general (minus the vocals). The mix is too good and even Richie's guitar sounds way too perfect to me. Could be wrong though. :)

Just a thought, is this the same key as the album version as well? If so, I'm definitely calling backing track!

I think its prop most of the time .... But i recall on the hand tour i went to all the japan shows when Richie had the broken arm . Jon did tried lots of solos ect and he was really playing cause he ****ed most of them up .... But it was cool cause he was trying ...
