This article popped up in my news feed today and what caught my attention was "You joined Melissa (Etheridge) in performing at a Grammy event in New York honouring Bon Jovi."

I was at work this morning like WHAT? WHAT EVENT? I'm limited with what I can search at work without getting slapped with internet filter warning.

I ADORE Melissa Etheridge, but I had not heard of this event. It was in 1997, but this is the only clip I can find and it's focused on Philip's playing rather than Melissa's singing: :(


Does anyone know any more about the event?

that show was in 2007 , lost highway era...
really great guitar work by philip sayce...many people here when richie first left the tour in 2009??? thought he d be the replacement...fun fact...

anyway that clip also shows that jon is a great producer and can really realise what a great guitarist sounds like...if so why do you let jon bobby butcher so many lead parts???/:vamp:

Didn't know Elton John had a 'congrats' video. I'd be curious to see that. Surfaced anywhere??

I vaguely remember it was more of a guess on some peoples part during the PBP for the first Jovi show sans Richie. They never announced the guitarist at the show, some people managed to decipher he was called Phil and put 2 and 2 together from there.

2009??? Richie first left the tour was in 2011.

Actually, the first time that Richie left the tour was in June of 2007. It was right after the Unplugged show where he was pretty much a zombie.
