The Script
Anyone else on here a fan?
I think they are a brilliant band. Loved them from the first few singles and have ever since. The first two albums were superb. #3 was pretty crap, though. Lots of poor songs and Danny (lead singer) tried doing rapping and didn't really work. The new album I absolutely love, though. Quite an upbeat yet chilled album. Highlights for me are 'Paint The Town Green', 'Army of Angels' and 'No Good In Goodbye.' Going to see them for the second time in March. Seen them in 2013 and they were very very good. Lead singer can't sing live, in my opinion. Very strained and weak but the show they put on is worth the money. A band with good chemistry. |

Lucky guess, hooray for me... |
I was never a big fan, but I like their early singles. However, it seems that with each album they've been trying to sound even more oriented to radio and topping the charts. I mean The Man Who Can't Be Moved is a pop song, just like others, but it has a lot more depth compared to Superheroes or Hall Of Fame.
I didn't have a chance to check out their new album, but the lead single left me uninspired - typical catchy chart-topping song, but nothing I would have desire to listen over and over again. And yeah, their singer can't sing. So early in their career they're already forced to downtune songs because of that reason. |
I'm not really a fan of 'Superheroes'. I actually skip it on the album but the rest is superb and definitely more like the first two albums.

I don't love it but I don't hate it. To me, their best album is Science and Faith, followed by the first one. About #3 and this album, I don't know: No Sound Without Silence is better overall as I think that the record as a whole is better, but there're no songs that I say "this is a great one" like there was on #3 with, for example, If You Could See Me Now or Six Degrees of Separation. I also enjoyed a lot of that album the solo version of Hall of Fame (without will.i.am) and Broken Arrow.
Also, on No Sound Without Silence Danny's voice sounds more trashed IMHO, almost to the point it seems he can't sing anymore, and the mixing/production isn't as good as it was in the previous albums. Still, I liked it a lot as I do with pretty much everything these guys do and I've been hearing Man on a Wire, It's Not Right For You and Flares almost every day since the release. I agree with both of you guys, Superheroes is just lame pop. I skip it every time. |
A random live performance of Superheroes, their current single.
I think that sums up pretty nicely as a live band - they're using playback vocals on the chorus and the singer still manages to sound horrible! Yuck! |
I really like The Script. I'll be seeing them live in April next year. I was forced to go to a concert of theirs on the Science & Faith tour, and have been a fan ever since.
Hall of Fame and Science & Faith are two of my favourite ever. I also really enjoy Superheroes, If You Could See Me Now and Kaleidoscope. I dont have a favourite album of theirs, but I like their three past releases, including the latest. I don't own their first album. |
I think they have the knack of writing a good hook but at their core they are just too poppy and try hard for my liking. Plus the singer is a nob head who sold his soul to a talent show.

I went to see them on Thursday for the second time. I absolutely loved them the first time I seen them but on Thursday, they blew me away. Forgot just how good the shows are.
Started off with Danny walking through the crowd before they broke into 'Paint The Town Green' which is one of my favorites. This is a band that are genuinely enjoying what they are doing. Danny genuinely seemed blown away half way through the show when they went into the middle of the arena and done a couple of songs. The crowd were on fire and they all seemed to realize that. His voice was actually pretty good apart from 2 or 3 songs when his range was shocking. 'Hall of Fame' and 'Nothing' sounded very very weak unfortunately. Two very good songs but I think 'Hall of Fame' is almost like 'Livin On A Prayer' in the sense that the crowd overtake that song anyway. I already can't wait for a new album & tour. |
