Default Guitar Tuning for LMS

Hey

I saw a video on youtube with Chris (Richie's guitar tech) talking about the Les Paul used for LMS. He says 'we use this for weird tuning' or something to that effect. As far as I was aware the only thing different for LMS is a capo on the 2nd fret. Does anyone know any different?

is that what he says? i could never work it out, i thought he just says it's what we open the show with. i've only seen richie play it without a capo a couple of times but it's always sounded as if it was normal tuning. mmmm that's got me curious now. good question!

It's regular tuning with capo on the second fret. He uses open D (or E with the capo) for the riff. I'll try to post it later on FreezeZone. I don't know if he uses a different tuning live, but on the album it just a regular tuning.

That would be nice, Ice. I haven't figured out the riff either. Can you please post the solo as well?

I must join the group of people saying "thanks" for figuring out the riff. I have a way to play it but I can't quite pull it off. Although I have been playing it just standard with a capo on the 2nd fret, like you said. I was curious about what Lumpy said in that interview too. From when I've seen them, it just looks like standard with the capo. hmmm...

I was sure its standard too.......Has anyone seen the Amsterdam show? They play it 2 semitones lower than standard live performances, anyone know why? Maybe Chris lost the capo? lol
