Default Jon playing piano?

So we all know this...

Arguably the original and best version of Bed Of Roses. And we know Jon claimed he wrote this song in his hotel room, just himself and the piano.

But I can't think of ANY other instances I've seen or heard of him playing it other than maybe when he's demoing songs in his house.

Can anyone correct me?

I think he was playing on Hard Letting You Go. As far as I remember that song was only recorded by Jon, Richie and with the use of a drum machine. Somewhere along the lines Jon mentioned having played the piano on that track since it originally was only supposed to be a gift for the producer of Moonlight and Valentino.

If I remember correctly there is footage of Jon playing the piano in the studio during what I believe was the recording of Aldo Nova's Blood On The Brick's album. I'm pretty sure it was a short piece in the middle of an interview with Jon and Aldo.

EDIT: found it here...

Perfect,

Thank you.

Guess you don't really need to play it much when you have David Bryan in your band.

Be interested to know if he actually played it on the These Days final version that made it on the album or not.

I'm pretty sure they did. It has been mentioned a few times in this thread:

And at some point there were a few magazine scans from that era posted and one of them had Jon confirming this. Can't find it anymore, unfortunately.

Jon might have played on the Sole / Soul Truth too... I was at both shows and remember hearing BOR for the first time and instantly knew it was going to be a hit... When Jon played it at the Plugged MTV thing, I remember watching him play that song on the piano was not a first for me... Unfortunately I don't remember the Sole Truth being played. It's now 25 years ago and that song did not stick however I do remember the piano and do remember Jon playing more than one song on it... The Soul Truth would fit the puzzle

My friend was at a show in Boston where he played piano while Tico sang. I was so jealous!

Judging from the pic below it seems that Jon also played some piano at the 1996 Red Bank Show

Question: Was there ever a show during the Crush/One Wild Night tours that Dave sang lead on Lay your Hands on me and Jon played the keyboards? I seem to remember reading about it (maybe here) but never heard it or saw it. Would be cool....
