Default Interesting Jon article

I found this article on facebook earlier today, its an interesting read about Jon and his voice, I think it might shed some light here, especially those who say Jon lost his voice or has no passion anymore, check it out https://musicdiaries.wordpress.com/2...e-of-a-legend/

This keeps on insisting that he hurt his voice on the Jersey Syndicate tour, but didn't the Slippery tour, with steroid injections straight into the throat, do most of the damage?

Probably, but remember between the slippery and NJ tours, it wasn't a long break, only about a year, and he recorded NJ album, plus the NJ tour was very long, about a year and a half, so with all that combine it definitely affected his voice. The article states that Jon did not know how to properly take care of his voice then, he had to get a vocal coach and see a throat specialist to help his voice get better during that period.

Well it still fails and what is more serious, forgot the lesson. In recent years he has made many albums and tours of more than 100 concerts in a year. At the end we have the same result as in the SWW-NJ Tour. The voice is shot again, he no longer has 30 years. Now it is 54. Only the charisma on stage and few tricks in the studio will save its decline.

It's funny how in this article does not take into account the last shows of the BWC Tour, or more recently in 2015 shows. Cleveland concert in 2013, Jon still enjoyed a good vocal health, Jon problem began in the summer of that year, and has not regained since. It's like if I say that Richie is still a great singer from 1991 to now, and put a link of Seven Years Gone 2012 from Craig Ferguson Show, and no mention of 2014 shows.

He damaged his voice on the Slippery Tour - not the Jersey Tour. The audio recordings back that up. Why that STILL gets thrown around is beyond me. He got a coach for the New Jersey Tour and his technique improved.

Jon sings above F4 recently on the song as well (albeit badly), so that's another thing the article got wrong.

His voice is no longer strong as well and has no singing technique anymore.

Jon had no operation after the SWW tour.

Don't believe their hype: the Slippery tour is when he was first operated on. The steroids followed during the New Jersey tour.

On Inside the Actor's Studio in 2009, Jon said: "We were burned...we were just dead tired, exhausted. And on top of that exhaustion, I was having to sing. Steroid shots had become candy to me, you know? They were just like, 'bring it on, bring it on', until there was no voice left and I was still getting jacked up...I don't look back at on that period fondly at all."

And consider the source -- this blog is run by someone in "Marketing & Brand Development at TourPhotographer.com," which is Bon Jovi photog's Dave Bergman's outfit. Also, it was born a mere six months ago, while they were "between" labels. Revisionism much?

Ah you meant operated on in terms of getting steroid injections. Yep, that was on the SWW tour. He still carries these with him nowadays, but (at least up until 2008 ) shied away from taking them again.

I meant he underwent a medical procedure that probably required hospitalization. Sorry about the double post -- it's my keyboard's time of month!

Just saw Guns and Roses last night and Jon should take some notes from Axl... The set list was perfect! Axl's voice was right on and he sang in the original key. He was energetic and running around... yes, him and Slash need to shed a few lbs but they are not obese either... Axl pulled out the piano for November Rain...

The show was everything I wanted to see and hear by an aged rock band... it was a real rock and roll show... As a matter of fact, they didn't even come across as aged...

Jon hasn't shown any energy or artistry in years... GnR had someone playing keys and Axl still showed some artistry on the piano... Jon should do something similar with Bed Of Roses... I don't know how Axl's voice is so preserved but Jon should use his vocal coach... And finally Axl is not even close to being in the shape Jon is in and gave out so much more energy...

And to end this, I'll say it again... You're a rock star Jon so look like one... Stop pretending to be Bill Clinton and hanging out with politicians. Get rid of the cotton top hair and go back to what you were put on this earth to do...
