That's because there is a large portion of the US that are straw chewing hillbillies. No offence intended there - the South is one of the places I'd love to visit most in the States. But it was a success because it was country

Ah man, that's a pretty naive way of looking at America. The "new" country sound goes far far far beyond the south and is certainly not for that stereotype anymore. To be honest I don't think the country audience really latched on the band, none of the singles did all that well minus some minor success with Memory. Everything else kind of fell flat on radio.

Perhaps "large portion" was the wrong term to use. But you're right that the new country sound goes further than the South, it's across the whole mid west. But im pretty sure LH got to number 1 in the country charts-the first non country band to do so?

Yeah, that was still the time they could do more than justice to every cover song they picked. Great stuff

I find myself listening to move covers lately than the actual band songs. I have an extensive collection of Bon Jovi cover songs that I've been collecting for almost 15 years now. I clean up the bootleg ones the best I could and mix them all in together.... It's so much easier listening to music now through your phone especially with Bluetooth capabilities. I used to have to shuffle through burnt CDs which was always a hassle because it was difficult to label everything. Now it's all in one place.
