Default 2014 Highest Paid Musicians

http://www.forbes.com/sites/zackomal...cians-of-2014/

Did I miss something? I honestly don't remember Bon Jovi touring any this year. How did they make 82 million?

No but maybe the money from the tour came through this year so it's just a technicality?

They earned $205 million last year. It boggles my mind that they brought in another $82 million this year.

I want their job! No, I want their salary for doing my job!

Well, Forbes is including Dr. Dre's headphone sale to Apple, and Beyonce's endorsements of H&M and Pepsi. Maybe they're counting back catalog and merchandise sales in the case of Bon Jovi and Bruce. Of course, what Jon is charging for KOS shows may be what tipping the scales, LOL

forbes financial year for 2014 is from 2013-2014 starting in June so any shows from June 2013 are counted

From Forbes web site:

In order to form our list, we looked at income from June 1st, 2013through June 1st, 2014, using data sources including Pollstar, the RIAA, Nielsen SoundScan, managers, lawyers and many of the artists themselves. We took into account concert ticket sales, royalties for recorded music and publishing, merchandise sales, endorsement deals and other business ventures.

Our estimates reflect pretax income before deducting fees for agents, managers and lawyers; only living artists are eligible for the list.

It boggles my mind that Apple paid $3 billion for the Beats brand.... not very good headphones that are all about show rather than quality. Mind you, evidence on my encounters on my daily commute suggests that Apple headphones in general are crap as they all need to be set at the loudest volume possible!

Dre just got lucky with the marketing that meant every chav in town wanted to be seen with a pair.
