If I got that right, it seems like #samborasaturday is an hashtag that's going around on Twitter and maybe elsewhere. It doesn't seem that widespread, huge phenomenon to me and I'm not sure I get precisely how it's used, but then again, my knowledge and use of Twitter is rather limited, so I might have not picked on what seems to be a big enough deal.

I did a search for SamboraSaturday on Twitter and it's looks like a minor effort. 99% of the posts that came up were from one person, somebody named Diane.

How do you possibly get that from that tweet? What do those words have to do with the fundraiser or charity?

Richie hasn't thanked his fans yet for that big contribution they made to his charity for his birthday at all if I'm not mistaken. He must be way too busy, or maybe its personal reasons.

Nope. As stated before, it's a Twitter thing. A Facebook friend posted this explanation: for all who don't know what the sambora saturday thing is - fans are posting photos and videos of Richie with the hashtag ‪#‎samborasaturday‬
