Has anyone had it confirmed that the band is actually taking 2 years off now?

Noone knows. It's well documented that they are taking an "extended break". What that means is anyones guess. 6 mos, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years? Maybe they'll play shows here & there or maybe they will disappear for an extended time. Anyone have a crystal ball?

My guess is that they will be too old to take a 5 year album break like they did 1995-2000. I'm guessing a complete year out of the spotlight - maybe another solo album by Jon - but Richie needs 2 years to get back to form and finally get rid of that mop-head Bandiera

They'll be touring next year, September 2012.

Not a cats hell in chance. Tickets will have to go on sale in November for it and they have only just finished. They were meant to take a break after LH remember?

I wish they would but there is no way they'd do that.

Yes a chance in hell. Jon wants to stay relevant, and there is no way he will take longer than a year and a half off. And FFS tickets don't get announced in November for a September tour Try June or July.

It was 1996-2000 but it wasn't supposed to be so long...There was a merger or takeover with the record company and that was delayed them in coming back...

I'm guessing a 2 year break but that will probably be 2 years before they start work so maybe 3 years before we see an album and close to 4 before they tour...
