Default Who is Jon's Boss?

So, he's the CEO: Who are the Board of Trustees? Who are the Shareholders? Who has invested? Who makes a profit? Who has a say in whether the band's performance has been good enough? How independent, realistically, are the band?

They don't let them do everything band wants and single choices are rarely Jon's.And it's concerning that bands new releases got little or zero promotion hence the Jon's statement about record label and Superman Tonight thing.

Jon is the boss, he makes the decisions, he keeps the money. All others are just hired employees. Richie and Dave get some money from the publishing deals, others significantly less.

The record company doesn't have any say on what Bon Jovi does, they have a contract with Bon Jovi (=Jon) that requires Bon Jovi to deliver an album to them every so often. And once they do, the record company owns it and promotes it. They will ask the band to tour, but it's Jon's decision. If they were on a smaller label the band would have even more control on what they do.

So, in short, Jon has no boss. He decides. And gets the money as well (althoug I'm fairly sure there are a few minor share-holders).

In most contracts like that, the record company has numerous "rights of refusal" clauses which allow them to veto single choices and such.

While this is technically correct as far as the structure, I'm quite certain Jon hardly regards his band mates as just hired employees. It would be more accurate to say he is in charge of the money as opposed to keeping it.

Your version is a recipe for a band on the verge of breaking up. There is no evidence to suggest your version is close to the truth.

I suppose some of us will retain the negative slant on the board while the majority get off it finally.
