It may be important to us, but he's only playing an 800 person theatre here, it wouldn't even make local news. And to think it's more important than the World Cup is just silly.

It would have been nice to have him on some chat shows, but as the shows are mostly sold out anyway what would be the point?

My sentiments exactly. I really want Seven Years Gone, was disappointed he didnt play it at Shepherds Bush. Father Time would be the one though.

I'm looking forward to it, the academy is near enough on my door step and i've spent many a night there at various things so its cool he's playing there.

It is strange that he said he was doing phoners for the tour yet nothings come out, however it sold out so quickly its not really like there is a need for them.

Bon Jovi playing Hyde Park to 92,000 people in 2003 got next to no exposure in the English press so you can imagine what Richie will get for a theatre show. Maybe Classic Rock magazine will review it down the line.

I think there might have been as many as that but I've seen 92,000 quoted quite a lot. Wikipedia cites 85,000 but I dont know the source.
