Why the **** would Jon sign up to play this song in original key when his voice is at the worst shape possible, instead of the usual half-step down? I mean, surely the KOS are decent enough to play it in the same key as Bon Jovi, right?

He surely doesn't see the problem of his voice as bad as the fans. In a recent interview he stated again how the band has to play perfect and he has to sing well. Now rather than ask KOS to tune down their instruments or play different chords, he decides to do this.. And I think he thought it went well. He could nail those high notes but there is no effort to push himself to limit. He rather just changes the melodies and sings out of tune.
