Default Jon and Chris LeDoux

Did you know that some country singer called Chris LeDoux recorded "Bang a Drum" which features a short haired Jon Bon Jovi? Stumbled over it at YouTube. Never liked the song, interesting anyway... when was that?

Knew it existed, but never heard it or seen the video, thanks for that

It's interesting actually, I wonder if the bits of this that Jon sings on give an indication of what the country project might sound a bit like?

well by Jon's hair you can tell it was made in the late 90's
it's been on the net for quite a while- on Chris Ledux site (he passed away just over a year ago)

Chris Ledux heard the "blaze of glory" cd- and wanted to do a cover for one of the songs- he contacted Jon- and they ended up doing this song and video together

it's just different- I like the back vocals of the girls on the original song- and I miss it here- but it just a different version- and I think it's pretty cool

I have an interview with Chris talking about the song. He said he was looking for a song about Billy the Kid and one of his kids gave him the Blaze CD to listen to in order to find a good Billy the Kid song. He said when he heard Bang a Drum he forgot about focusing on Billy the Kid because that was a great song about "life."

Jon's brother Tony directed the video. Chris's kids are in the video. It was released in 1998. The song originally appeared on Chris' One Man Road CD.
