Default 09/08/14 SAMBORA - Korea, Seul

This afternoon at the World Cup Stadium in SEOUL, KOREA... despite torrential rain and dangerous thunder and lightning, and only after delays for crowd safety issues, RICHIE SAMBORA & CO took the stage at the Hyundai CITYBREAK Festival. Though slated to play for longer, and despite the delays going on so long the show itself was almost called on account of weather, RICHIE went out on stage and managed to perform a little set for the fans in Seoul. And they kicked ass.

Set List
Lay Your Hands on Me
It's My Life (intro) + Every Road Leads Home to You

Here's a bit of STYG and Wanted - I don't think it's really good, Richie seems not focused but maybe it was the weather conditions?

Was the bad weather the reason for the stadium being 1/4 full?

Probably -- it isn't as though Richie was the headliner, LOL!

Is that the same drummer he's been using? He looks like the one he used during is "residency" on the Craig Ferguson show.

They LOOK like two different guys...

Well, Richie's only 3rd or 4th on the bill, those people paid to see Maroon 5 and PSY, so number of empty seat is hardly a surprise. What's actually surprising is that Richie didn't realize this and still decided to play Stick To Your Guns and expected crowd participation. Seriously, did he expect many Jovi fans in the attendance?

They're completely different guys. Richie used Aaron Sterling, who played on the album and was his drummer for 90% of the shows since 2012. I assumed Aaron sat out the last tour due to being on the road as John Mayer's long time drummer but I don't know it for a fact.

That's him, officer! Number two on the left -- THAT'S THE MAN!

As another Jovitalker put it so beautifully, the other guy looked like a total dope being unable to play without headphones. Doing so in the studio or in rehearsal is one thing, but live? What in the world was he listening to?

P.S. Thanks! And the funny thing is, if the photo in the OP had been cropped one inch to the right, I probably wouldn't have noticed at all!

He may have looked a bit strange, like an hyperactive Labrador, but he seemed a much better drummer to me and many others who have seen the shows.

Even if there weren't many die hards, what if there were only a hundred? Chances are slim they've ever seen the band, so getting Richie to play Stick To Your Guns is most likely the best thing they'll ever get in their lives. It's a risk we all would love Jon to take more often, so I'm all for things like these.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
