Default Last truly great band performance?

What do you think was the last truly great performance by the band? Hard Rock Calling 2011? Jon had hurt his knee, but sounded good. The band was on fire and the crowd was awesome. Set list included Hey God, Always, These Days, and Dry County. Plus it was captured with a killer soundboard recording. Any shows since then top this one?

HRC had an amazing setlist, but vocally Jon wasn't at his 2011-best and had better showings that tour; shows like Lisbon, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Vienna, Udine, and I'm probably missing a few, but I'd say sounded better and setlist-wise were quite similar.

Still, that was a great leg overall, just that it's not worth noting HRC above all other shows in my opinion, but I guess people due to that due to the availability of radio broadcast.

So if we're going strictly last, I'd say either Lisbon 2011 or Milan 2013, depending on what counts as the 'band'.

I'd say Lisbon 2011.

2010-2011 is the top of the last years.

The last great band performance .... i don't know ... but Cleveland 2013 was a solid show with great performances, the band sound strong, and Jon voice was decent. Uncasiville,Nashville and Toronto shows was very good too.

Mannheim, Vienna, Barcelona and Lisbon 2011
A few decent ones after that, but those were the last outstanding performances for me.

The 2011 tour was a really good one ..
I loved the spanish shows just prior to Lisbon ..Both were great in a different way
I personally loved San Sebastian a little bit more because the show was truly unprepared/ spontaneous with great gems during the show too - even if the performances were not flawless they were very 'honest' - which is not mandatory - honest means not helped by technical tricks as much as usual -if it makes sense to put it that way - this is how I recall it

I agree completely. I wasn't at Vienna but the other 3 were outstanding.

I would have to give an honorable mention to the rescheduled concert at the Mohegan Sun in October 2013. I was expecting nothing and got a really good show. It wasn't up to the level of the above 2011 shows but it was damn good.

Hard to say, but I know that on July 22nd 2011 in Vienna Jon was on TOP of the game. Things came so naturally, just a pure pleasure to watch. 28 songs, rarities like Wild is the Wind or Hallelujah, almost 3 hours - they even missed the flight and spontanously stayed in town until the day after.

Want a real gem? This in front of 50.000 was ecstatic. Watch this middle part of "Saturday Night" from 2:45. It's a cool close-up. This was a time when Jon apparently felt something, not robo-Jon.
