I find it kind of ironic that the same people who don't like and ridicule fun., like the song "Because We Can". Because We Can Is pretty much the biggest rip off of "Some Nights". Only that they didn't do it justice at all.


fun. Is a great band. Nate Ruess is a phenomenal lead singer, something that is quite rare nowadays in pop/rock music. Any other fans out there?

I liked them until I saw them at the EMAs where I thought they are simply bad, esp. the singer. They play at Rock im Park where I am this year but I don't think I will see them.

I don't dislike FUN and agree, Nate is a great vocalist but I can't stand Some Nights. Yet, I really like Because We Can...ha ha, go figure!! But, FUN, I could take or leave and not sure I see them having a long shelf life.

Firstly, Because We Can is not a complete rip off of Some Nights. It may have one or two similarities, but that's about it.

Secondly, Fun. is a great band. I was quite surprised when I saw people hating on Some Nights. It is a great song. I still prefer We Are Young, but I love both songs. I bought their album after they released We Are Young single and I fell in love with Some Nights. Unfortunately though, those two tracks were about all I liked. The rest of the album was just ok. I was a little disappointed.

I hate 'We Are Young', and I don't particularly like anything by them.

However, there is one song ('Carry On' maybe) where, when the solo kicks in, I smile. It's just...nice. It's hard to say it without sounding weird but it's just a nice bit of feel-good music.

Never liked them at all, but to be fair, I've only heared three songs by them. I'm going to listen to their Some Nights album and then say what I think.

But also, I don't think that Because We Can is a Some Nights clone. At all. As it has been said, it have some similarities, but the overall track is something completely different.

Edit: Sorry, couldn't hear more than track 4. They're not bad, is just that this isn't my kind of music.

fun. are a very interesting phenomenom. from an almost underground indie hipster favourite to mainstream in a snap. here's a band that radically changed their sound and alienated most of their fans. i don't mind We Are Young but Some Nights slightly gets on my nerves. to me they're still the Aim & Ignite band. not quite sure where i stand with these guys now, i guess i'll have to wait for a third record.

a friend went to their gig here in October and she described the audience as an odd mix of very confused hipsters and 13 years old girls. apparently though, they put on a great show.
