Default More Richie's bullshit in the press

http://www.artistdirect.com/entertai...mbora/11313787

'When can we expect music or is this time frame loose?'

'No timeline. We're just getting into the studio. (...) In Bon Jovi, you are covering the world, doing press everywhere and it's a hard-working organization. You miss a lot of life. My daughter and I, we look at each other, we miss each other, and I thought this is more important (...) I go on the road for four weeks, not 18-and-a-half months. Now I am the boss. Bon Jovi was a dream job for any musician. 30 years... that's a good run.

and then:

'What is your actual Bon Jovi status?

'Right now, I am not in the band. No one can predict the future, but right now, I want to play until I am dead and I am not going to depend on anyone else for that. Some guys want to play golf or **** around in a sailboat. For Ori and me, it is such a creative spurt. I love music again. '

Can you spot the contradiction ? It's like he's mocking himself. First he says he's out because 'he missed a lot... Ava... yada yada yada' only to answer the next question 'What is your actual Bon Jovi status?' with 'I'll play until I'm dead' and saying that 'some guys want to play gold or **** around in a sailbot'. - So, first you leave Bon Jovi stating personal issues that turned out to be you being sick of being on the road and missing a lot of father-daughter quality time... now he says that he'll play until he's dead and he's not gonna **** around by playing golf or ****ing in a boat.

What gives ? This guy turned out to be a major prick. I decided never to take sides (not that it matters, it's not like Richie and Jon are gonna be mad at me) but Richie clearly has some issues. Either he's back on the booze, going mad or suffering from Yoko Ono-ities in regards to Orianthi. Perhaps a combination of all three ?

another bullshit article where he bring back the old '52 countries' bullshit. If only I had a dollar for every time he whines about his long tours. Poor thing.

There you go. Jon said it. Richie said it.

Time to move on.

I can't feel sorry for someone touring with Bon Jovi's schedule in recent years. It's not like they didn't have breaks between shows. I bet anyone on this board who plays guitar would gladly take his schedule if they could also take his paycheck!

I don't think it is so hard to understand that Richie is saying that he is going to be a musician all the days of his life but right now that means not being a part of a massive operation involving restricted musical arrangements and months of touring. He is in a lucky position of needing neither money or glory so he can live his professional and personal life as he sees fit.

I like that he is playing with other musicians at various events. I like that in the past he posted photos of his attending Coachella and commenting on musical acts (can you see Jon attending such things?). He probably does feel more creative having broken free of the Bon Jovi machine and Jon-driven lyrics. I haven't read the whole interview as yet but the quotes you presented don't have him talking shit about Bon Jovi.

Moving on....

Celebrities get paid to attend Coachella.
http://time.com/52404/coachella-pays-celebrities/

So, in all likelihood, he was doing exactly what he was paid to do--promote the event. That hardly ups his "cool" factor.
