Default Full Lost Highway Album (reviews and shit - no dl)

Haven't got a review yet just listened to it once but as all other threads are deleted I thought I do the Mods a pleasure and give it another go.

Anyways, one thing that is bugging me. That same guitar chords/rythym/whatever country thingy, too much of that

What do you think?

(Looking forward of the reviews/comments anywhere on board of the people who were bashing about downloading album upfront when available )

of course this thread gets deleted for no reason...

I'm looking forward to the reviews and stuff too. In unrelated news, my PM box is lonely.

So I've had the chance to officially listen to it twice now. So here goes nothing.

When I first heard that Bon Jovi were going into the studio in Nashville to record a country album, I was definently thinking what everyone else was thinking.... "What the hell is going on?". Though I can understand the road they decided to take after the US success of "Who Says You Can't Go Home", I was still skeptical as to how this album was going to sound compared to Bon Jovi of recent years. Now after listening to the album a couple times, it honestly can fit right into country radio perfectly as well as maybe gaining some success on some Top 40 radio stations, which Make A Memory seems to be doing to an extent. So am I happy with the direction they took? Sure, it's a solid rock album with a little twang and some of their better song writing, with the exception of a couple.

Lost Highway - I honestly really like this song and it could be one of my favorite post-2000 songs. It's a rock song that doesn't bite to hard on the country sound. It's not one of Jon's best vocals, but it does fit as being a pretty typical/solid album opener. 8/10

Summertime - With all of the clips I've heard and all of the guitar solos that have been pushed around in the clips, that's the only thing that dissapointed me with this song. It's a catchy song that can do well on country radio I believe. I really enjoy it. 8/10

(You Want To) Make A Memory - One of my least favorite songs on the album really. It's pretty boring and simple. The only thing I really like about the song is the ending. It was a pleasant surprise. 6/10

Whole Lot of Leaving - This is another solid song with a pretty good solo in it. The melody sounds like a Bon Jovi song. This is another easy song on the ears as far as Jon's vocals go. The band sounds good hear. 8/10

We Got It Going On - This lyrically, is absolutely terrible. But... I will give the band some props on some of the effects with Big and Rich and the Talkbox Solo. Musically, it's loud and rockin', lyrically it sucks. 7/10

Any Other Day - This is absolutely one of the best post-2000 Bon Jovi songs. It's very effective and not over the top. The lyrics aren't really sappy but it leaves the impression of hope. Lyrically and musically... awesome. 10/10

Seat Next To You - You know... This is just one of those typical fillers I think, but I honestly really really like the song. The sappy guitar sound and lyrics makes this a song that reminds me of my girlfriend. Good lyrics, good vocals. Too bad the band didn't have more to do with this track. 7/10

Everybody's Broken - This is actually one of my least favorite tracks really. It's a pretty typical Bon Jovi filler, this actually brings to mind songs like Misunderstood and Joey. I can deal with it though. 6/10

Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore - Another one of my favorite tracks. Easily one of my favorite ballads in the post-2000. The harmonies between LeAnn and Jon are great and his vocal is a strong performance. Richie has some good solo's and the music in general is solid. 9/10

The Last Night - Eh, this is going to be a song that has to grow on me for sure. I'm not really sure about it. Someone pointed out how repetitive it really is. The chorus is bearable, but it's nothing special. 6/10

One Step Closer - This song is very interesting. I wouldn't even call this a typical Bon Jovi song. The chorus is really good. This will be one I have to listen more and more and it will grow as I keep listening to it. 8/10

I Love This Town - Here it is... The Who Says clone. Though actually... This song is so much better. I also think it has a little more edge with the music. The guitars are rather loud and Tico plays the drums great. Solid solos as well. 8/10

Overall... I'm going to enjoy listening to this over the summer. I'm sure opinions will change as I keep listening to it. Lost Highway - 8/10
