And yeah, I do also remember reading or Jon talking about him messing things up on purpose because he was annoyed that they had to play playback or do lip-syncing, for whatever reason (bad sound in the studio/arena, too much effort to soundcheck a band for one song, ...)
Another example for full playback is It's My Life from the German TV show Wetten Dass in 2000 (sorry, couldn't find it on YouTube quickly and don't have time enough to look for it now...). As far as I recall, there isn't even live lead vocals on that one, in contrast to when they did Superman Tonight on the show. There, Jon was singing live and the rest was playback, and they probably should've taken the other route
