Jon can't wait for Richie and does 90% of WAN with just him and Shanks. The tour starts, Richie is playing this garbage, continuing right where TC and GHs tour left off. He is absolutely miserable, done with Jon's ego, and has a melt down. Richie walks off and doesn't looking back. 30 years is enough... The End!

What the hell does that have to do with the song, which is barely even a Jon solo song, just a song he sang for a compilation album....

There was alway a lot of talk and speculation about the guys, including Richie having minimal playing time on WAN. We've assumed to this point that it's a JBJ / John Shanks album... The fact that Beautiful Day sounds like it fell right off WAN and now we know that Shanks was the one playing guitar on the track instead of a hired hand just adds more confirmation as to how WAN was put together.

It may make a lot of sense to you and I don't know how many others but, it's still just speculation and assumtions. This song was for something outside of the band, and it was put together quickly at John Shanks main working studio, basically his "home". To me it doesn't sound like it belongs on What about now as much as it sounds like something Shanks is used to doing by now without much effort. Sounds exactly like a Kelly Clarkson song with sound like sonically....

No. It sounds exactly like the average songs from What About Now Album. It is a clear evidence of the lack of personality you have that last album as a "band". Now it's all about the brand, not the band. Jon knows deceive their fans.

No, it´s like Javier said. The song has nothing to do with the mediocre songs on WAN but the fact that it´s also mediocre...and prouced by Shank´s standards; and nothing more to assume bout it nor past or future

There's no "proof" of anything. That whole little write up was nothing but speculation, assumptions, and a little bit of fan fiction.

Unless you were in the studio, you don't know who was doing what and who laid the final tracks on the songs. Richie is still credited as a co-writer and co-producer. I don't believe Jon has any compelling reason to give Richie credit/payment/royalities for life for work he didn't actually do.

Alec is credited as the Bass Player on every album up until Faith...

Liner Notes don't count towards payment/royalities, contracts do.

But yes, I agree that it's all speculation. 90% of the discussions here are.
