Default Valentine's Day gift ideas...

Okay, guys, what would you suggest for a guy for Valentine's Day? And nothing racy because the guy in question is a Methodist minister. I've given him plenty of sports-related stuff, a wallet, clothes, a pocket knife, and a watch already. I've tried searching amazon for "gifts for Christian men" and nothing struck me as the right thing. HELP!

Does he enjoy writing? How about a nice fountain pen (I love mine). Perhaps with a journal with nice paper.

Does he read for pleasure? Any area he loves? History etc. A book is a long lasting present.

Does he like to cook - or want to learn to cook more? Lots of great cookbooks out there. Not to mention all the kitchen gadgets to go with.

How about gardening - lots of great gardening gifts. A windowsill herb garden is a wonderful gift and make dinner taste good too

Get him a "red letter day". Something like a flying lesson or a day experience in a sports car. I've had both and it made great presents - plus its definitely a present for a man as well. And an experience that he'll never forget

How about a bookmark ? You can get personalised ones with his initials or maybe a certain verse from bible ie Love is.....I'm sure he will like whatever you choose.

You could do up a pretty shopping bag full of IOUs: things I'm sure he needs help with around the church that you could volunteer time for.

Really agree with the kitchen items if he cooks...
I know this sounds Corney but Valentines should be a bit of that to me, he looks to the heavens, name a star after him.
I have found online and bought a widows mite, came with a coa and dig site information - it was gift cased and would have significance. plus Kind of romantic from the giving all you have to give......)
If you can find a used/antique book store - any old copies by John Wesley or antique hymnals
Food....specialty items he probably wouldn't buy for himself
A donation to his favorite charity
Music always works too...

It will be wonderful, no matter what you choose......
