here will be no blaze of glory for Bon Jovi at the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. In their first year of eligibility, the veteran Jersey rockers have been snubbed.
The hall's nine 2009 nominees include thoroughly worthy candidates Metallica and Run-DMC along with some more questionable choices. Jeff Beck, already in the Hall as a member of the Yardbirds, is on the list. So are Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Stooges, War and Bobby Womack.
Maybe there is some solace for Bon Jovi in the fact that lots of other stellar candidates were snubbed as well: Yes, Kiss, The Moody Blues, Genesis, Willie Nelson, Brian Eno, Gram Parsons, Chicago, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Waits, Rush, The Cure, Neil Diamond ...
