First time seeing Bon Jovi, long time fan. Had great seats. The band took a while to get their legs (at one point someone missed a note and Jon visably grimaced) but after the slow start, the band seemed to come together and really rocked the place.
The crowd was electric and Jon really worked them.
A few surprising things were how early in the set Wanted Dead or Alive came and also the fact that athough he seemed to be in good voice, Jon seemed to shy away from hitting the real tough notes (such as on Living in a Prayer).
The highlight of the show for me was when Richie sang I Would Die For You. I always felt that Sambora has a very underrated voice and he really put heart and soul into it. He seemed genuinely appreciative of how well the crowd responded to the song.
The end of the show was fun with the band playing Shout/Rock and Roll Music/Twist and Shout as the final encore.
All in all it was a helluva night. |
