13 July 2001 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 29 February 2024
Conga Line

A review by Laura Segel / laura.j.segel@gmail.com

I was at the concert, which was beyond AMAZING, for my die hard Bon Jovi fan friend, Kristin's birthday. There were 3 of us, and at that time, all 3 of us were married and old (30's)and we had been seeing Bon Jovi concerts since we were teenagers. Anyway, my friend Kristin saw all the fans Jon was letting on stage and she said to me, "if you were really my friend, you would get me on stage." Never in a million years did I think I would be able to get her on stage but I had to try. I found the nicest, nicest stage crew guy, who was obviously busy, and I grabbed him and handed him my purse and said, there is $500 cash in here and you can have it but can you PLEASE get my friend Kristin on stage. That sweet, nice guy said' "come with me I can do better," and he proceeded to take the 3 of us, which I really and truly didn't care about being on stage, I just wanted it for my friend, but he took the 3 of us and put us on the, if facing the stage, the left side platform in roped off area. There were many fans up there and they weren't happy that this nice stage guy put us there but Jon did come over to Kristin and told her to START the conga line! Kristin was in shock and looked at me and Patricia and asked what to do, and we were like start the conga line! She did and as we followed all the fans from that area rushed Jon. Patricia and I went to front center stage to avoid being run over by fans, and we just stood there and danced! Kristin stayed attached to Jon until security escorted us off stage. The nice stage guy returned our purses and he REFUSED to take any money from me at all. Does anyone have any photos or videos of that conga line? Does anyone know how I might find it? I am desperately trying to find a picture of Kristin on stage with Jon for her birthday. Please let me know if anyone can help. That stage guy was the nicest person ever and I wish I could remember his name to thank him again for such a great experience!
