Misunderrood and All About Loving You make sense as singles, Everyday is so blatantly no-hook copy of IML. I would much sooner put Bounce in front of "Bounce" album then, it's really odd. I wouldn't be confused if it was a safe hit single in front or ballad, but "Everyday" instead of name of the album song that's kind of catchy, odd.

Everyday has a great instrumental, oddly enough. I like the wall of guitars.

But the vocal hook is weak (plus basically Bye Bye Bye, which is not a cool nod!)

I don't think Everyday is a bad song in isolation, but next leading single after IML, if it's complete copy, it should have a clear vocal hook and be a safe hit bet. As they failed in that, I would just leave it out and take Bounce as leading single. What song would you choose? I mean, in hindsight, anything would be better, no?

At the time, the format for a band like Bon Jovi was still that the first single was generally upbeat, then you went for the radio pop/rock tune, then the ballad.

There's five "rocking" tracks on the album: Undivided, Everyday, The Distance (questionable heaviness...), Hook Me Up and Bounce

I like Bounce, the song, the best out of these, BY FAR, but I don't think it has any crossover potential. Maybe The Distance could have worked in the US? Hook Me Up is a great album track but not a radio track.

If I could go with any song, honestly, Misunderstood is easily the best choice for a single.

Add the sixth rocking track, Love Me Back To Life.

I never got the narrarative that Everyday was an IML knock off. In theme and subject matter? YES. Bounce sounds more like IML than Everyday does by a mile.

Yeah, that one and The Distance are basically midtempo ballads with drop tuned guitars. I never was a huge fan of either TBH

EDIT: But you know what? THAT track, LMBTL, sounds like it could have been on Crush.

I def would have lead with Undivided, followed by The Distance as the second single.

But what a solid album would a combination of Sex Sells, Crush and Bounce do

EDIT: Just something like this, a combination of officially released songs from Crush and Bounce (with exception of Stay), I would really enjoy

1. It’s My Life
2. Bounce
3. Hook Me Up/Undivided
4. Just Older
5. Stay
6. Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen From Mars
7. The Distance
8. Say It Isn’t So
9. All About Loving You
10. Two Story Town
11. Misunderstood
12. Right Side Of Wrong
My album running order would be something like this:

1. Undivided
2. Everyday
3. The Distance
4. Two Story Town
5. Mystery Train
6. Just Older
7. One Wild Night
8. Neurotica
9. Hook Me Up
10. Love Me Back To Life
11. Bounce
12. Open All Night

Without IML?
