So it could mean this is the "Come back as me" of this era. A last second release because it fits the point of view he wants to get out?

Richie told me he had been on a tear. His writing was better than ever he said.

This song hits around 50/50 for me. It is not terrible but is something that lacks substance, in the same way Jon's music can sometimes. There is no staying power, so within a couple of days the song drops from my radar.

I am unsure why he chases this poppy sound, you would never know he is a rock star or a guitar player. Even Jon is rocking more than this. That said, I love lots of pop music, and this lands somewhere around meh in quality and 3 plays and out in lasting appeal.

I like the melodies, something both Jon and Richie are always good at. Even Legendary, which I dislike, gets stuck in my head if I hear it. And despite my own misgivings due to my personal tastes, I can see why someone may enjoy this song.

By the way, just VPN to another region to hear it.

There's a quote from JBJ in "People" where he's says they can be like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jon added that the “door is always open” for Sambora’s return.

“Phil X has done an incredible job. John Shanks, my co-producer and buddy, he’s done nine of my albums,” he said. “We’d look like Lynyrd Skynyrd, but f*ck yeah, come on up. There’s always another guitar to plug in.”

Suggests to me if Richie Sambora ever came back it would be a guest ( a few shows/Final show) or having to accept John Shanks if JBJ could ever tour again.

I think the former is more likely....

Some online fan reaction, wouldn't accept Richie up-there with John Shanks, BUT if it happens at least HE'S THERE. I'll accept that, even if I don't like the idea of John Shanks being there IF ( A BIG IF) Richie Sambora ever returned......

Holy hell, this is beautifully put. It's a catchy song but (to me) Legendary is a better pop song than this is a rock song if that makes sense? I need to hear if there's a solo and actually hear it in full, we've heard 2:00 minutes of it so far and I want to hear some guitarrrrr.

I heard the full song. The guitar solo is, not good. Fits the song I suppose, but sort of a mess.

jon is allergic to guitars and now he wants like seven of them on stage, playing what exactly. you don't even need one for legendary let alone seven.

Honestly, I don't like the idea of John Shanks being around Bon Jovi at all, with or without Richie. The guy is a Yoko Ono of Bon Jovi. I've spoken with him briefly back in 2019 in Warsaw, Poland and he's just one of the most antipathetic people I ever encountered. He's not even a good musician nor producer, but just a human louse that attached itself to Jon and destroyed the band. And I always wonder what the few albums would sound like without his input - with Richie and a good producer (Erik Martensson, Danny Rexon, Hannes Braun, Jona Tee... I can go on with another 100 names of people who know what a good rock record should sound like) on board...

Well it's midnight in Germany.

The song's a lot better than Come Back As Me, I always felt that one sounded super try-hard. That being said, it really could use some dynamics. While it's a lot better than constant "epic acoustic guitars twanging away" ala recent BJ singles, the same groove throughout also wears down.

Solo is okay, mostly notable for the effect (talkbox, I guess? Or autowah?), not the melody played.

Spotify has the same credits as Youtube, by the way.

I quite like the song, not overly rocky but it is catchy. As others have said, the solo is ok and fits the song.

Reminds me of the first time I heard Every Road Leads Home To You. Decent enough as a single for the album. Excited to see what's to come from Richie.
