I was listening this album yesterday...The best post 2000 album for me. There are better songs in other albums (any other day, just older and love's) but as an album is the best. Maybe I could take off Joey, nor for being bad, but it's the weakest IMO. And I wouldn't replace it for the any bounce b-sides, as they don't fit on it.

Could live without ever hearing Joey, RSOW, Open All Night or You Had Me From Hello again.

I don't like Everyday. I just don't like it in general.
I don't like IML either (I know it's not from Bounce.).

Would you two have substituted YHMFH for a different ballad or rather for something a little punchier?
To me Undivided started the album so strong and the tempos never matched up to me. Everyday kind of feels slower and draggiers than Undivided. I always wished it had the backing guitars in the intro like the video.

Oh man, good question, what would I replace it. Some really great stuff got left off but it was an album that had strings on almost every track. I would probably add one more rocker. Standing is pretty weak lyrically, I really prefer Another Reason to Believe.

Everyday is really quite tragic, because the backing track is stellar (bar the solo - agreed, Bounce is the weakest BJ album Richie played on in terms of solos), but the chorus itself just never soars. It is stuffed with effects and all, but the vocal melody is just okay. Doesn't really make me want to sing along, really. It sounds like a perfect theme for a sports commerical, but as a first single, intended to recreate the success of IML, it falls flat.

Yeah, the three songs I like best out of the b-sides are Another Reason To Believe, Postcards and Breathe. (Somehow I'd thought Postcards was on the UK release, but it seems that's NOT the case?) But that's one rocker, one ballad and one poppy midtempo track.

Honestly, as much as I like Bounce, it would have benefited from one more month of writing and/or recording. The huge first single, even if not neccesary for home listening still is elemental to a classic BJ album, and it's just not there. Undivided would never have worked, even if it's the one from the album they play live now, and Misunderstood is a perfect second single, but not the classic first single / anthem they needed. AALY with better lyrics, production and performance could have been the big ballad, but as it is... as a result, NONE of the album was on the Greatest Hits, which is a damn shame.

Right side of wrong is a song I almost never listen to, but I appreciate effort much as to say that it shouldn't be removed.

You had me from hello is surely my worst.

All about loving you I also totally dont need, very cliche and yes the production/orchestration is a turnoff.

Joey is a song I used to find very lame, and I still don't really like the lyrics. But musically it makes more sense and seems more interesting to me right now - - and much more interesting than AALY or even Misunderstood. So I say stay.

So yes, in conclusion I d just remove AALY and YHMFH. And add Postcards from the wasteland surely. What a cool tune !

The "demo" versions of some of these tracks are... extremely curious. AALY sounds cleaner than the original. Was the song originally written for somebody else? Because that backing instrumentation is super clean and not at all demo like. Sounds a tad more country-ish as well.

Breathe and Standing are not demos for all I can tell; they are finished and produced.

Agreed! The first verse is my favourite lyric part from the Bounce era:

Tonight the moon's as pretty as a brand new rose
And nosey stars, they seem to know where everybody goes
As poets reach for words with broken motel pens
Here's something to hold on to 'til I come home again
