Walking down the red carpet with Jon, David and Tico would be...weird, but I feel like he should be there on his own. It's just odd to feature him so heavily in the documentary and the promotion and then have him absent. I get the feeling he was asked to stay away, but I suppose it's possible he just didn't want to be involved. If so, then maybe that says something about how he is portrayed in the doc....

From the bands point of view it's probably not a good idea to have Jon saying in the press that neither of them are looking for a reunion, but it's always a possibility and then have Richie on the red carpet telling everyone he's ready, wants back in, has already written 30+ songs and Jon is crazy if he doesn't ask him back...

I think it's this. His words ot the press over the last few years when it comes to the band are very "yeah let's do this" heavy. Having him on site saying he wants to come back negates Jon's "he's welcome back any time" constant jargon.

Though him claiming he was fired in the doc may change the narratie shortly.

Unless they really, really, really surprise us, Richie has not been involved in the writing and recording of the Forever album.

I doubt they'd reunite with Richie, claim "yeah now the real deal for this band is back"... and still be able to properly sell that album.

It'd be after the promo and album cycle. Still, it seems really weird to insist "who knows, the door's open" when he's obviously eager to come back.

The only only only way that scenario plays out is the remaining songs not on ASCAP have his name on it and they needed to wait. We still have had no confirmation the songwriters list is true. I don't believe for a second RS was involved in this album but thats the only way possible.

Cadillac Man is in the documentary.
