It seems to me that they said they had finished the album and then DOC came on board as manager. I think that he said to them that the album wasn't good enough or wasn't ready and made them go back into the studio (with Bob). Doc knows what he is talking about and Richie trusts him, so that's what I think happened. It also gives Doc more time to work out how it's going to get released....

that seems very possible combined by the fact that they probably look for an outlet to secure them some backing in the release. personaly i m looking forward to listen to both albums but i wouldnt like the 2 releases to step on each other in order to avoid any strategic promo maneuvers...
i m sure richie will have some gems in there

This thread started in 2014 when she first said could be as soon as April of 14.

It felt like they imo were/are playing rock star with promises, & inconsistent shows. Too much "sharing" & for me became annoying fast. I had been told there was no label, even this past week they made another quick stop in Nashville per a guitar shop? Was it to see Doc? Label shopping? Who knows.. Richie said in one of these push of interviews this past week that HE IS FUNDING EVERYTHING. So,Does that mean it is just a matter of finding who to pay to release it? Digital is the most affordable. This has got to make the list of most expensive albums.... TUSK anyone. Richie is prone to exaggeration too - I think we've all seen that, so......

The liner notes for this thing are going to be a small novel. Maybe that's the delay - finding a book publisher....

i think it will be released by some indie label at the end...Just like Aftermath though i love some of his songs just like 7 years gone, every road and stuff still it was hard to find his album in local music store, good in music but flop in selling..any thought?

Plus Orianthi, nobody knew her..few knew her but generally speaking it's like 1 outta 20 people so i think they are struggling with the label and stuff, kinda suspicious whether RS broke or something..

Do you mean suspicious whether RS is broke? I highly doubt it as he has been financing this whole project himself....and I'm not really sure what that would have to do with getting a label anyways...

I think Richie is probably reluctant to release on a really small label after his experience with Aftermath, but there are some great indie labels out there these days. I think it's more likely that he will just put the stuff out there himself, a few tracks at a time digitally or something, than give the record to some tiny label. There would be no benefit to that. I'm sure that is one of the things that Doc is working on though...

richie will probably have millions, many hits tours etc...

noticed they changed the whole band again...from one point that proves they werent happy with previous guys they toured who truly sounded just ok, on the other hand if you keep changing your bandmates the chances of being good live are small

I'd say he's probably lost money over the past few years. Touring with renowned session players in small venues and making an album with no record company backing would be costly. He's obviously doing this out of passion rather than business.

Richie is a very rich man though. His net worth is reported at $65 million so I wouldn't worry too much about his finances.

This is one of the many concerns I have with this whole project. They sound like a garage band. The clips I've seen have been very disappointing. Maybe I'm missing something, but he spent all that time talking about wanting to be a frontman and now he's sharing the spotlight with his girlfriend. I'm not a fan of her originals and they play way too many covers in my opinion. Just sloppy sounding. I'm honestly not looking forward to this album anymore. I think it's gonna be a fluff puff pop attempt at being relevant and not something creatively inspired. That's why it's not been released for two years...

Agree with you..If he goes SOLO i'd buy his album that's for sure like i did before on the Stranger, undiscovered and Aftermath..But with Orianthi in it?No i;d probably listen to Youtube etc just in the name of curiosity

Thank you for the info!

But hey, let's face it, does anybody really believe in releasing this year? :P
